Simple: set a maximum boot rate allowed for forum posters. I recommend 20%. Here's the kind of morons that would automatically sort out:

Alternatively, since the mods only have power to move threads, just create a "Troll" forum. There's no way to stop them, so might as well just move them out of the way.

The problem is that not everyone with a high boot rate is a troll. To be honest there is no reliable way to filter trolls, especially since the definition of troll changes from person to person.

The point is that most people with boot rates that high are morons, and rarely do anything worthwhile around here. By adding this filter you would automatically cut out a ton of crap.

They wouldn't do it themselves. But it would effectively allow the moderators to get rid of Troll threads. The issue is that the mods aren't able to delete threads themselves, so Godfrey Elfwick/NIGHT/etc. still get to basically derail a bunch of other forums.

I have a relatively high boot rate. I wouldn't consider myself a troll.

Alternatively, create a forum with prereqs (<20% boot rate, at least 100 games played, etc.). That way trolls won't be able to do much unless they get better at the game, and the old fora would still remain as they are.

Or a Members-only Forum (only suggesting this because Fizzer's more likely to implement this- sorry FA :( ). Both would still be viewable by everyone, but you just can't post if you don't meet the prereqs.

Or just give trusted, active people like ChrisCMU more power. If this was implemented, keep it transparent to avoid corruption, put a Forum Mod Tag under ChrisCMU's name when he posts/replies etc like Fizzers "Warlight Creator" Tag.

That also works. Let mods delete posts.

The issue with this forum is that there are virtually no consequences for spam/trolling, except for those enforced by clans.
