I'd like to hear some opinions from other people. I'll give you my definition when I hear some others, I'd especially like to hear the opinions of clan leaders.

For me, a clan is just a group of players with a similar level of skill to play with/against. Maybe I should look into joining another one...

Without clans, there could be no clansluts.

From my perspective (kinda skewed/biased) I see clans as a way to network with other players, associate with a group of players that you like and are of a similar mind to, have a group that you can rely on (more or less) in games, give more options for creating and joining new/fun games, etc.

On the other hand, some benefits are clan-specific, rather than being universal. For example; REGL has our own website, which includes features like live-chat and forums. These things aren't for everyone, but can be pretty useful for those who wish to participate.

In conclusion, I think the biggest meaning taken from being in a clan is just having a group of people you like and play with, and having a way of identifying with each other, both among yoru group and within the WL community as a whole.

Well there are quite a lot of reasons:
1. It enables players to be able to team up with others more easily, as you can trust them, you will know them and it makes it more fun.

2. It's a way of getting more involved on warlight. You get invited to more Leagues, Tournments, games and you get more involved with the community.

3. Gives players a chance to learn from others while playing with and against. As some people say you learn the most in a clan.

4. It makes you want to play the game for longer (bad thing) as you have a team your part of.

5. Overall you get a lot of fun out of it, that's the biggest reason why there's clans, in my opinion.

Some reasons why I set up my clan: 1. I couldn't get into others
2. I wanted to be able to team up with people more easily. 3. I wanted to get more involved on warlight and get invited to more things. 4. Have more fun playing. 5. Cause i like leading ;)

Hello forums,

Miyagi think clans are a group of players(usually friends) who play well together and have fun together! Miyagi says clans are about having fun with people you like while improving your game!

On a side note Z-Dog masters would be interested in having you aboard!

Thanks for your opinions :) They are similar to mine.

My perspective on clans is this. I can play with players of a similar skill level and can team up with them and know they will play good and won't get booted. I like getting to know players better and enjoy playing with many different players.

So this brings me to my point, why is it bad to be in multiple clans according to some? I think it is based on perspective. I personally switch clans often because I like to play with players I don't know very well and like to get to know them better. Being in a clan with them is an easy way to get to know them. That's my opinion of why I join clans: getting to know other good players.

Some clans don't agree with my view of clans, which I understand. They value loyalty to the clan and want you to only be a part of their clan. Some clans don't care how many clans you are in because they are more about playing with good players than loyalty (WG used to be a great example of this, I think they have started to become a clan where loyalty is the most important factor, which is not a bad thing, just not ideal for players who share my opinion.)

I was surprised all the hate I was getting from switching to one more clan. I have truly been a part in 4 clans now: [P], [WG], Apex, and [WM]. I feel very happy with each one I have been in and have gotten a lot out of each(well not [WM] yet but I am sure I will :)) Going back to the hating on me, why did it just start once I joined the 4th clan, why not the 3rd? I have heard at least 6-7 people call me a clan slut or make obvious they disapproved of me switching clans. But did you know that before I joined [WM], I heard only one player make a comment about the clan hopping, and he trolls me nonstop. So what I see is that many people in the forum jump on the bandwagon and don't think for themselves. I hope this can change in the future, I'm fine with the clan slut comments, I don't feel like there is any problem with it. I just hope that you all can learn to think for yourselves and try to stay off of the bandwagon. Just because everyone else is saying something, doesn't mean you should too.

Thanks for the time, JSA

By leaving apex, you incurred the wrath of X. And that is a very bad thing.

Besides, [P] to [WG] was essentially a reboot of the same clan, just with a more "pro" feel to it. [WG] to Apex: "Some clans don't care how many clans you are in because they are more about playing with good players than loyalty (WG used to be a great example of this...)". Apex to [WM] is complete and utter betrayal, clanslut.

Aside from that Miyagi's post and EagleBlast's first/last paragraph said basically what I would have said.

P to WG, same thing, WG to APEX, still a part of WG, and they are fine with that, LEAVING BOTH TO WM, utter betrayal, makes no sense, just trying to say was once a part of apex wg and wm, CLANSLUT

I really don't understand leaving a clan unles you are not happy with your current one. All clans are similar in their ability to communicate (I should hope so) and the only reason I think you should switch clans is if you are not satisfied with the one you have currently.

Elitist clans will always be a STAIN in my mind....thank you Elite for making that possible. Therefore arguments involving switching elite clans are utterly worthless and have become invalid. (Hint, Hint)

And btw are you still clan leader of WG?

I think you might have mentioned that, but that was the time I quit the forums...too much ____ in the forums at that time.

2 seconds? I'm pretty happy I lasted about a week. I can't go without using the forums, especially with the new update. I just won't bother with threads that I don't care about.

I was never clan leader of [WG], ChrisCMU has always been leader, I originally helped form it, but I didn't want to start a new clan to abandon [WG], and figured it'd be more of a betrayal to [P] if I led [WG]. Chris did a good job as leader, he has made [WG] one of the strongest clans in the game. If you remember, it started with me, Lolowut, Chris, and Reza, so it has improved quite a lot. And I look at [WG] as a democracy, everyone in the clan votes on new members, but Chris has the most power, but it is not unlimited if that makes sense :)

I don't know or care about the purpose of clans. BR is just a long-living group of funny brazillian players. Basically, we exist to connect players inside our own community. We have games everyday, based from strategic to crazy FFAs, and a lot of respect and friendship, with guys ranging from 12yo to 40yo.

But a clan system/ladder would be awesome. I see it like another type of tournament. So clans would be "elite" groups focused on competitions.
