I can see why they did this. They want to avoid talking about on race, sex and nationality, so the best way is just not to speak about them.

I learned this a long time ago, there are many sets of words that you do Not use in a publication. Bad words are sometimes acceptable, but there are words that are almost never acceptable.

what about caucasians in europe? should they be called european-european, i know people refer to us according to our state of nationality, but does that make much sense?

I am currently preparing to apply to phds and the hardest part of my application will be where it asks for my ethnicity, i mean: what am i? where i live at im considered white, but i doubt most central european people would regard me as "white white", so how do you define a Southern european in terms of ethnicity? I heard some Southern europeans cal themselves "olive white", but i suppose thats a joke

You should just list off all the bloods mixed in you.

I know how you feel, I'm pretty much the "whitest" non-albino person I've seen around here, but I'm still nothing compared to someone from germany, scandinavia or central europe in general.
