I played with Fairplay Woman once in a 2v2 (https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=9115127). And boy did she get pissed when I eliminated her! My intentions were to take over the whole map because the other team were losing, and not to accept one AI's surrender as it'd hamper my plans.

To this day, I still have no idea why she got pissed off at me even though we won the match. In the team chat she said U are ill And böajxlkszed you noob, after that she asked Are u ugly !?. All of that was after we- well, myself- successfully won the match.

There's not that many girls that play WarLight. But biggest reason why not is likely societal norms. Women are only now getting very well into FPS, Fighting games and such. The move to Computer Indie games is a lot more difficult, especially strategy games. Again, not that women can't, it's just societal pressures that put a major road block into place. I witnessed such firsthand when I grew up, girl gamers got bullied in High School. Thank god that sort of stuff isn't as rampant.

All of this combines to alienate and create barriers to entry for already underrepresented groups.

Seems like an interesting structural problem, part of the bigger issue of the Internet often serving to divide people by allowing us to solely form communities with people who believe what we do and are very similar to us, to the point that people even slightly unlike us become completely alien.

Alt time.

Sometimes I get really sick of not fitting the mold of what people expect of a girl. I don't fit in as a girl because I'm too different. I don't completely fit in with the guys because they still see me as a girl. I avoid all of that in online forums by letting people assume I'm a guy. As an added plus, it helps keep my identity anonymous.

No it doesn't. And that's the exact problem that many people have no clue how to deal with. Effectively, when it comes to WarLight, male and female are the same. Neither gender affect how people play the game, or how they should be treated, which is why it is ridiculous when people use that for ridiculing, because we are all human.

You can't really tell unless they make it obvious. I'm female, but I like to use gender neutral names online because it cuts down on some of the non-sense.

You get alot of creepy messages, possibly. You could test it by saying your a girl
