I've played Warlight for quite a bit now..over 2000 games at least and i still detest auto distribution. Its the worst possible "lottery" you could ever have. I reckon Warlight should get rid of it! I have won on the rarest of occasions...95% of the time i lose... Ive played a lot of auto games too!! I still prefer manual...giving me more of a "chance" to win a game!

What do you lot think? Should WL remove auto distribution??

No - it can be fun in some situations.

Sometimes it's good just to play for fun without involving brain too much. Also if you don't care too much about winning or losing your game, autodist allow you to play scenarios wchich normally wouldn't be possible (cause in manual dist noone would pick such crappy territories).

So - don't like it, don't play it. Why you want to take this possibility from others?

kszy nails it. Why remove options? Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they have no place in the game.

By that logic, I could complain that I always lose manual distribution and that it is unfair since it unfairly benefits more experienced players and should be removed from the game. Auto is much simpler and fairer.

Another example is multiattack. I HATE it and have never won a game on it. Other love it though and play it a lot. You aren't the centre of the universe!

as others have stated, just because one person doesnt like something doesnt mean it should be gotten rid of, you dont have to play it, AND if you really lose 95 percent of the time you cant blame luck, with over 2000 gamese thats an exaggeration and something else...

While I'm not in favor of removing auto-distribution, I would like it to become an option on the settings highlight. There's a major difference between auto and manual distribution and I'd like to know which one I'm going through without scrolling down.

Auto can be very nice in FFA games with balanced maps. As long as none of the bonuses are particularly bad or good, then getting them randomly helps prevent early collusion and the significant problem of people getting stuck picking the same areas and defeating themselves by picking what should have been the best spots. Auto is bad for most 1v1 games and a lot of team games, but if the maps are pretty balanced, it's worthwhile to use it from time to time.

Auto distribution helps to provide players with a better perspective for some maps (in other words, good for training), requiring you to use unusual or unique tactics to compensate for an unlucky starting position.

Auto-distribution is very good and fair in some case. Example : Full special distribution in symetrical maps. So you will not have to pick every territories in your allowed area, and players start to play on first turn.
