All this random drama in your "histories" yeah, its a cool feature, but I'm fairly sure clans like USSR, The Mongols, and some of the competitive clans don't have much, given their relative stability *Cough* reasonable leadership *Cough* Also, the small clans won't have much either.

Illuminati's past generation had drama. Our current generation is relatively well-behaved.

I'm having an excellent time in my clan. Drama free, and we actually get stuff done.

You forgot the part of the Falcon history when I join & start a political party that eventually overthrows colonel for being a tyrannical whore. (If you know colonel then you know this was no easy task as he would go to great lengths to keep his power)

That's been my exact impression of your leadership since at least March. Hence my doubt that Colonel was actually speaking for you. Maelstrom et all. made it pretty clear that the Wolves are hellbent on fixing any internal gameplay problems, something I commend your (former) clan for.

An often-forgotten fact is that these management structures exist (at least in theory) to amplify a clan's ability to contribute to its members within the game and handle necessary decision-making tasks that also contribute to the clan's core activity. These aren't things made "just because." In the case of CORP, our decentralized structure was put in place to allow the clan to scale while still maintaining inter-member familiarity and helping members improve themselves as players. The GC exists not for fancy Japanese titles that meant nothing more than "advisor" but to refine clan policy (for example, improving how we dealt with alt accounts of non-member mains in order to best understand how we could improve as a clan; or changing our membership/expulsion guidelines to better contribute to community norm enforcement which ultimately makes the game more playable). The dojo system isn't a rehash of Wolf fleets or Falcon parties but instead a way for all members with initiative to contribute toward the clan's core mission of gameplay and improvement- e.g., by running monthly tournaments on various templates or by designing and playing on interesting RP templates that modeled a historical or fictional scenario.

In short, CORP is about gameplay, not politics, and I believe that its ability to scale and maintain member familiarity, as well as its unusually high rate of activity (compared to other RP clans, at least) reflect that. Even the Achilles incident is overblown af- no one outside the clan would know about it if I didn't mention it, most of the clan didn't know about it, and it was wrapped up in a few hours with no impact on clan operation).

So don't knock management structures as a whole to make your clan look more worthwhile.

TJC and only fully competitive clans would be what I joined. I thought about the Mongols for a hot minute, but realized Genghis wouldn't like me in the same group as him xD

Eh I just told Panda what Mongols clan is. I don't want to say his reasoning for joining because I feel that is something he wants disclosed. But I will tell you it's not managers rights, just view his rank on the clan page if you want to disprove me.

Des, I would love to be in the same group as you. I may hate people like QueefBalls, but I am not going to deny someone who wants to join the clan. They might like other members of the clan, and who am I to deny someone from joining? I am not the "God" of the clan. Like certain other members, I am merely one of few central personality cults, who really just invite people to the clan.

I think that's a road-block in Mongols clan : People attribute me and my personality to much to Mongols, but we are really a nice group of well-rounded folk.

hi Zeus! Im trying new clans thats all, just to see how other clans work. So I may try many different clans (RP, strategic, team, most clans without any drama if possible)

And no Knyte I did not join the Mongols because I had a management offer, I wanted a quiet clan for now as I have less time to focus on WL, so the Mongols sounded perfect: a good community playing diplos and some FFAs and a very active leader.

When I have time, I will just help Genghis to grow that old clan, once my job is done I may leave, I did not forget your offer for Olympus :) But the only problem about your clan Zeus is that I would have to change my name and I will never change it. So unless I make an alt to join your clan I dont see how that could be possible.

Hello, i am one of the original founders of the lost wolves and im still in its top 5 today.

firstly, there is no rivalry between the wolves and the falcons...nor do we hate after dark...are "rivals" are vitrix mainly however the falcons often say we are there rivals.

secondly, alot of what zhuq said is from a biased viewpoint so ill give you the facts.

The Lost Wolves

*Started as a protest against Roman Clan's dictatorial rule.

^this is true but it started with michael getting kicked from vitrix and we would rather have followed him then arminius

*Keyes, Godkung and a few others buy their own clan - TLW.

^ godkung (retired) bought the clan and then me,warlord,awesomebeast (retired), and michael lead the clan until michael kicked the majority of the clan and when he was kicked his spot as a top 5 was left empty so we made a 10-13 people government council which included houston the hammer and keyes but that was a few months after our creation.

*This clan does not really have democracy, either, for now.

^our government changes practically every week but the one we have now is keyes' ideal one, we have a pentarchy with 5 people (me, semice,zephyrum,houston, and keyes) and a high council that just gives us ideas.

*I came into the clan. *Dom leaves the clan.

zhuq was a person who always made games with us and when he joined he gave off a untrustworthy feeling in which i didnt trust him at all... dom left becuase this was around the time we dicided to let michael back in (biggest mistake we ever made) and dom didnt want to be in the same clan as michael

*Semicedevine spam posts frequently on the forum - TLW reputation starts to sink at this point.

only the falcons were made, and it was made due to kellen throwing a fit and leaving, taking his friends with him...so it was kellen, not colonel. and about the falcons, we have drove thomas to being paranoid just becuase ew were tired of dealing with there shit

now i know those last few had a bit of bias but we all are biased when it comes to giving opinions, however i felt the facts weren't enough to convey my point. the falcons and wolves are (loosley ill admit) allies at the moment... vitrix is our main rivals acording to most wolves who are active on the forums (unless you ask semice or his fleet, and speaking of his fleet it seems bad for our image when semice and his fleet are the only wolves who post stuff on the forum making us look like 1 goal set assholes) and this is becuase unlike the falcons we have risen close to our mother clans status, we have yet to beat vitrix but eventually we will, remember rivals dont hate each other, they push each other to accomplish goals until one goal is met and the other admits defeat... we nor the falcons have pushed each other to a greater purpose, however just the thought of vitrix alone pushes most of us to recruit better and in all be better then them in all ways and since we are close to vitrix's status in terms of rankings it will make them wish to out play us in this game of back and forth.

How do you figure we haven't reached anywhere near the level of you guys? Stfu the wolves are full of alts and inactives. & you didn't drive Thomas to anything he's definitely not paranoid. This is exactly why I wouldn't let colonel honor any wolves on the falcon page he was convinced that you guys are friendly towards us but I know you think your better that's why I hate most wolves.

Most of this could have been done in private chat.

That said, clan history is fun. Given the flexibility of the system, clan leadership structures tend to vary heavily and it's useful to know what's been tried and what works the best under what circumstances.
