we need to come up with some ideas for Fizzer for new ladders, here are my ideas:

2v2
3v3
4v4
2v2v2
FFA 3
FFA 4
FFA 7

another good idea would be to have a ladder for real-time player with a 15min boot

2v2 and 3v3 would be the ones I would most like to see.

The realtime idea sounds cool, but might be difficult to get games in without a large number of players in that ladder. I assume it would be something where you demonstrate that you are ready to play and it will try to match you up with someone for a quick game. I really like that idea, I'd love a 5 minute 1v1 ladder under that premise. Not sure how workable it would be right now, though. I could see it being the same players playing each other all the time and other players never finding other people online for games based on when they can be online.

yeah, that would have to wait till there are more members, and 5min is what people like, but with the autoboot function 5 seems low.....8 or 10min maybe?

Imho, 5 minute for a non-huge non-MA match should be more then enough

1v1 with random distribution

For FFA I really hope it is a single ladder covering multiple size games, and not a separate ladder for each type (4 player, 5 player, 10 player, etc). I love FFA but ladders for each game size would be unwieldy and it would force me to pick just a couple types. It would probably also be difficult to populate each ladder with enough players to function properly.

we could have some sort of "Grab-Bag" ladder with random settings:

1-3 teams
1-3 per team
no, light, and normal fog
5 maps
manual/auto picks

this would give an element of having to adapt to each game and show a real representation of how good a player is based on situation

I don't think a FFA ladder works very well. Too easy to rig the rankings. It seems likely that people would go out of their way to attack the "best" player early, and if friends were in the same FFA, collusion would decide the game. It doesn't seem like a great test of skill.

Team ladders make some sense, but do you join the ladder as a team, or get assigned to random teams? I would prefer to join the ladder as a team, personally, but there are issues with that, too. Seems like the 1 v 1 ranking is the most "pure".

I imagine you will definitely enter as a team. What are the issues that you mention?

I am all for anonymous games.. I dislike being treated differently just because people think i am better/worse then the average players..

Agreed. Anonymous games would probably improve FFA enjoyment for me significantly. I've put either 2 or 3 votes into that idea on uservoice, and I suggest others throw some support behind it as well.

Or anonymous with the option of earning a "reveal" card where any opponent can earn and play that card on you just to reveal your true identity. Worthless in terms of winning the game, but oh so fulfilling when you find out who you are attacking.
