About the randomization: I see potential problems appear when people will, inevitably, drop out. I'd love to hear how you'd deal with those situations. People may be even faster to drop out if they are randomized to bad teammates.

Without randomization, this would be easy: the clan finds a replacement or the team drops out. With randomization, I don't see this end well without a good back-up system in place.

@Math Wolf - good points, and yes I presume joining on Math Wolf [2] but not Math Wolf is okay. The only reasonable thing is that we get reserves from clans, or switch teams every so often.

If you want to change the ranking system to TrueSkill (put everything up on Sheets a la CSL, and I'll write the code you need to rate players using TrueSkill + pair teams), you can re-randomize teams after each game to eliminate that cause for the most part.

Love this idea! And you don't need to write TrueSkill code, Fizzer already posted a tool for that!

A win could be simply counted as 3 wins for each player, one against each member of the other team although there may be some order issues (which player gets the win against which player first), but these could be somewhat randomized out.

I cant speak for the LEA, since im not the leader. I just have some questions.

How do the teams get randomized?
I would assume once the teams are set, they wont change anymore between the games(unless you need to replace someone). Though the last replies made me not so sure anymore - i kinda like the idea of new random teams every match but then there is no point in a team ranking, right?

Do the team get randomized within their own clans or all participating players (so mixed teams may appear)?

If the latter one is the case why do you need clans to sign up anyway? ... you just need groups of 3 players no matter what clan they are coming from or am i missing sth?


However it is worked out, this really looks pretty and i definetely would like to participate. Ofcourse I have to wait for the Captain to decide how its going and if i join with the LEA or as a freelancer (still dont really see the difference).

Another Edit: Btw Europe may be my least favorite map in team games. Can I get a lobby here for changing that to any other map? XD

I don't think even that would be necessary. TrueSkill's got an algorithm for handling team games that rates players individually. I mean, randomized teams are probably the bread and butter of TrueSkill, given that it was made for Xbox Live, so we can simply roll with what it already has without applying any logic of our own at that level.

Yeah, the LEA would like to participate in this. Definitely if Benjamin is running things.
