It would be nice if you were a bit nicer about it, Жұқтыру. I let you test it and suggest improvements to it, some of which I even implemented into the final version, not to mention putting your name in this map.


I'm not saying this map deceives, I'm saying that you shouldn't judge maps on looks only.

I was trying to keep the design consistent with Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, in an attempt to make this style the norm for ancient maps.

I was trying to keep the design consistent with Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, in an attempt to make this style the norm for ancient maps.

This was my first attempt at using smooth borders instead of jagged ones, I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but I think it was pretty good for a first try.

Tried Orbis on real-time playout with the same usual 4 players ffa setting (probably not full distribution if elected). It was quite fun playing the map, the only problem is it is impossible to commit all moves in the mid-games, I pretty much have to ignore certain regions and all capital bonuses just to move on. In fact, my last opponent got booted since he couldn't commit all on time (https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=9410583).

In conclusion, good map but way too complex.

I personally vote Orbis, but if this map is elected for this week I will only play multi-day (unless time limit becomes longer like 10 minutes), otherwise it is impossible to make all moves.

In other weeks if I see huge maps like this, I might choose not to vote for it. This week I just want to try more multi-day games.

Yeah, the auto games suck... they should be designed for each map, or at least 3 types of templates : small, medium and big maps. Otherwise... it's just a joke. For a big map, you can't have 5 minutes autoboot, since you can't just commit in 5 minutes...

Also, it's always 4 players, it isn't a good thing either.
