And I am unable to change them. In the settings, the Practice box is unchecked and yet it is still showing up as a Practice game when I start. How can I correct this? Thanks!

The AIs. That's it! Thanks. Is there anyway to change that? I kind of like playing teams, but it's often difficult to get 8-10 players in a game sometimes.

Oh really? I think thats new. I made this before,but after unchecked the box the game started ranked with AIs.

I'm pretty sure ranked games were never allowed with AIs.
I mean, think about it: you can play ranked games against AIs all day long, level up, get a really high win percentage?
Start a 40-player FFA with 39 AIs and settings they can't make sense of... or just pick the "AIs surrender when one human remains" option.
That's no good.

AIs can replace booters and surrenderers, and the game can still count as ranked, maybe you were confused with that?

Poireau is correct. The presence of AIs or imbalanced teams has always forced a game to be practice instead of ranked. A dialogue box even pops up confirming that when creating games on a browser (can't speak to mobile devices).
This makes sense since ranked games are supposed to be fair and there is no way to really accomplish this with AIs or imbalanced teams. The AI simply isn't good enough and can't handle many of the cards or settings in the game to make them legitimate competition.
