Can some French speaking person translate Cid's bio, I don't want the 5 minutes I spent reviewing that game to go to waste :D

just go to wikisource ;)

Under me, then, this band advances, and bears in its
aspect a manly confidence. At setting out we were five hundred, but, by
a speedy reinforcement, we saw ourselves [augmented to] three thousand
on arriving at the port; so surely, on beholding us advance with such a
[determined] aspect, did the most dismayed recover their courage. Of
that brave host [_lit._ of it], as soon as we had arrived, I conceal
two-thirds in the holds of the ships which were found there; the rest,
whose numbers were increasing every hour, burning with impatience,
remain around me; they lie down on the ground, and, without making any
noise, they pass a considerable portion of so auspicious [_lit._
beautiful] a night. By my command the guard does the same, and keeping
themselves, concealed aid my stratagem, and I boldly pretended to have
received from you the order which they see me follow out, and which I
issue to all. This dim light which falls from the stars, at last with
the tide causes us to see thirty vessels [_lit._ sails]; the wave
[i.e. the water] swells beneath them, and, with a mutual effort, the
Moors and the sea advance even to the port

Under me the troop advanced,
Displaying all its manly confidence.
We were five hundred, but with swift support
Grew to three thousand as we reached the port,
So that seeing us marching to that stage,
Those most terrified found new courage!
Arriving, I hid quite two thirds of the men
In the holds of the vessels there, and then
The rest, whose numbers now increased hourly,
Devoured by impatience, gathering round me,
Lay down on the ground, where in silence
The best part of a fine night was spent.
At my command the guards did the same,
And, staying hidden, helped my stratagem;
Then I boldly feigned to owe to you
The orders they and I would then pursue.
The faint light cast from every distant star
Showed thirty ships now crossing the bar;
The waves swelled beneath, and their effort
Brought the tide-borne Moors within the port.

what did you think? Turn 4 i decided to do something that im still not sure was good. I wanted to either destroy his stack and set myself up to threaten china or hold the income advantage in indo. I kind of didnt get either. Should i have focused on moving to shaanxi? Elimainting him in scand?

From my perspective (it's biased because I know what he was making, etc) and maybe worth less than your average forum stroller since you whooped me in a game recently, but here goes;

Turn 3
-Unlucky in Antartica, it happens, but that resulted in a huge disadvantage.
-Losing Murmansk was a second mistake, maybe should have put 1 there because he has more edge in only needing to defend one spot in Scandinavia instead of two. Of course you may have anticipated him attacking there, but with 2-3 he needs 3-4 to win and that means less in the south to defend.

Turn 4
-Would have been more worried about Taiwan than Thailand since he would anticipate a build up and wouldn't likely attack. It would buy you one turn, which would be enough to get the Antartica bonus without losing Indo (or at least have a lower change of losing it).

Turn 8
-Giving up Thailand and going all-in in the north may have brought you an edge at gaining control over it. With that you would have had 4-5 turns before renewed contact and a chance to use your experience and the wastelands to your advantage, maybe even attempting a sneak attack via Australia

Again take this with a grain of salt, this is all hindsight bias and coming from me ;P
