Today on Under the Microscope, brought to you by *cough* [IM] YouMustBeKidding *cough, we take a look at M'Hunters

After all those reviews on some kinda... kinda... let's just call them random interchangable clans I thought it's time to go for the big guy you have all been waiting for and review M'Hunters.

Haunted by a past where M'Hunters has already won everything there is to win, including the famous Norman awards, there just isn't a next step to climb. Reviewing M'Hunters is like reviewing a country having won the World Cup 50 times in a row. What is the secret power driving them again and again to best performances? The answer is difficult and simple at the same time: Those guys are just freaking A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

Instead of looking for farmed stats the M'Hunters council plays tryout games with unknown applicants. Applicants don't just have to be awesome players but also awesome clan members. If you feel that clans like Lynx, Vitrix Mortalis, [20],... can give nothing more for you I recommend trying out for M'Hunters to push your WarLight career to the next level.

Because they are all so super nice they also made their clan strategy guide public, linked under their clan page. Thank you! Although I wasn't accepted into the clan, one of their members agreed to train me and it has really pushed me forwards. I'm still to bad for M'Hunters but certainly good enough to beat up some random coin game players. Again a big thank you!

Hello @Hades and @Kain

p.s. just to make sure, remember to add more "+" next time ....

Because having a guy inactive for over 146 days is A+++ on clan activity. I'm struggling to tell if he's serious or not...

As I reviewed the M'Hunters clan I didn't post my personal opinion but I used statistical metrics and I extracted the data from the WarLight API. The reason it was A++ and not A+++... is that according to the metric, that I'm using to evaluate the clans, the best clan always gets an A++, the worst gets an F and the other clans are alligned in between with an average of C.

So A++ doesn't mean that M'Hunters has 'perfect' clan activity (like all members being online 24/7) but it means that they are the best clan in that category.

I don't want to overwhelm you with the mathematical details so I just post a picture showing the current past games of the real time ladder:

Jokes aside, M'hunters is a good clan, personally I've been with several different clans on my alt and the M'hunters community is great. we often have internal tournaments, we're constantly scouting for active, teambased players. We consider teamwork and attitude above skill since skill can be taught(we were all noobs and some stage). There are forums in which we discuss previous games, we take part in clanbased tournaments and now recently the clan league.

M'hunters is a democracy if ever there was one in a clan, no decision is done without consent of majority of its members, Mhunters isn't just a name and a crappy gmail logo next to your username, its a community of social and competitive players from different countries, ages, cultures that enjoy a teamwork-based warlight.

A picture of the real time ladder is hardly great evidence, you've just cherry picked the thing that makes them look the most active. Here's a fairer picture, as you can see there's quite a few clans a lot more active than M'hunters. I think someone who's not trying to butter up the clan should do the rankings aha.

Note that Illuminati has close to 0% inactivity. M'Hunters and Illuminati are both clans that are following the same general principles: a large, competitive, active group focusing on learning and growth in skill + community.

I would also like to point out that these two clans have the highest potential to do outreach to new players. Competitive clans are usually much smaller, and accept fewer people-- as a result, fewer people are directly benefitting from their existence. Larger clans are usually useless. M'Hunters, Illuminati, and maybe a few others are a perfect compromise.

but i think M'Hunters are genuinely pretty active
and yes they have 77 members, some of them are inactive but that does not affect their activity in general

I don't understand. If I'm guessing correctly what you mean then this still leaves the question which clan challenge you are talking about? Or are you just predicting results of a possible future challenge? Like who cares about ladders, clan league and stuff? Results there don't count, the only thing that counts are the clan rankings of some 50% win rate guys.

Today is our 1 year anniversary and the fact that we can already compete and beat clans like Illuminati which have been around for twice as long speaks volumes about how fast we are growing our strategic skills.

I dont know if you are in charge of "Under the Microscope" but I think you should make a rubric to grade every section. Then, everybody could understand better the grades..

Sadly M'Hunters and ILLUMINATI aren't in the same League (M in A, I in B). CORP will beat M'Hunters for you :)

For the sake of sportsmanship we are sending players into the clan league who want to improve or who enjoy a certain template (ziskonian republic on the Europe map,...). We didn't gather our former ladder number 1s, high level alt accounts or our clan champion (=myself) to farm some easy wins.
