Just throwing this out there:

What would Fizzer think of apart from having the well known 1vs1 ladder strat to also have an ongoing ladder with a different template or a different map ??

We already have the seasonal tournies but they mostly feature a variation of the 1vs1 strat (except for the latest one), nor do these tournies offer an overview of progression of skill over time.

Let's see what the community thinks of this :)

I've always shared that idea. I'm not sure how practical it is but I would definitely like it. Also a 3v3 Europe ladder would be welcome. I'm sure there are reasons why there aren't these things somewhere, but I still like them.

I think I saw something on an older thread that explaind why a 3v3 ladder is either difficult or impractical...I don't remember the reasoning because all I could think at the time was *please let there eventually be one* and Europe would be the perfect template in my opinion although I'm sure there are plenty of more experienced players that could offer better suggestions.

yeah, a 1v1 imperium romanum 0% luck cities distribution template would be a very nice idea for a ladder, wouldnt it, aranka?

Strat 1v1 is the base of Competitave WarLight. For that reason, I think it should be the only permanent ladder. If you want variation, play seasonal or make a CLOT.

the reasoning against 3v3 is that there are only 27 teams in the 2v2 ladder, and the 2v2 template, while not as great as the 3v3 one, is a built in template and stuff, so a 3v3 ladder would have about 5-10, maybe 15 teams, and there wouldnt be any compettion

Make it unlockable from level 50-60 or higher to accept a 3vs3 invitation to play on the ladder.
Mind though that this does NOT mean you can start your own group of players for the 3vs3 ladder settings but can only join if invited by actual members.

Seems like your problem can easily be solved....

I know this also makes it easy for some to join with their alt's so we'll limit the invitations to non members to a maximum of 1 so as not to have Gnuff or Pulsey with three accounts

Wait.... the problem is there aren't enough teams.... so you want to reduce the number of people able to join???

EDIT: Ok makes more sense when you read it over again, but for now at least, there are only a few farmers reaching that level (most of which are members!).

Btw with this new change in ladder functions (non members are allowed to join at level 48), I'm pretty sure it won't be hard to find enough players to set up a 3vs3 tournament....
