I agree with chu... from what I have seen there is a point at which new accounts get free coins. I have played some new inexperienced players on the 5-coin games who said they did not buy coins but instead were playing with free coins.

Yes you will get free 100 coins at around level 15-20 (18?). Only once.
I got 100 free coins too, but I couldn't remember exactly at which level I got them.
But I'm not sure if there are other criteria involved, or 100 coins are given once you passed certain level. Your mileage may vary.
P.S. I'm not interested in any coin game.

I recieved 100 free coins earlier today, while being level 15. I did, however, also create my account back in 2011, so what Gnuffone said might have applied here.
