I can certainly empathize with VIW Moo. I think we all wish we could have redo’s on some of the games from which we’ve been booted in the past. And, no offense to the Wolf clan, but given Moo’s record, it’s a safe bet he would have won that game easily—had he joined in time.

But playing that (or any) game over would be unfair to all those who joined their respective games before getting booted. The Boot deadline is just like any other setting in the game and must be honored. The Boot deadline is there for a reason—especially in these games where it’s not just the individual performance which is at stake, but the performance of the clan.

You could accuse me of being biased, but I hope the logic of the argument stands on its own. :)

PS: Why did Ollie & Lobstrocity replay their game?

I believe Redos may be done if everyone involved agrees. (All players+ organizers)

+1 TBest, that's what I think too, may be wrong though

Ollie and Lob replayed their game because either:

a) Ollie's internet failed on him and Lob was nice enough to redo
b) Ollie is a massive derp and Lob was nice enough to redo

Either way, Lob agreed to have a redo. Seeing as both parties involved were both for a redo, I think that would be a generally accepted rule. You can't force a redo on someone if not all parties are in favour. Bottom line is, Lob is a cool guy :P

Define "...all players" or "...everyone involved", please.

In a 1v1 outside of a tournament, ladder, or clan battle, a redo affects only the two combatants. In a clan battle or tournament with rankings, however, wouldn't ALL players be affected by that redo? It looks like it may not make much difference in our Division (at the moment, but of course, we hope to change that!), but it could affect the final rankings if VIW Moo is allowed to redo the game, which currently counts as a loss. If Ninjas or Stahl were to beat VIW in a late match, it could be a very tight race for the 1-2 spots in Div C.

The way lob and Ollie set it up, I define "all players" as the players in the game. If that was the case accepted there, I'd expect it to be accepted here. I don't know who calls the shots though. Is it the division host (almost)? Is it Chris? Is it the people playing the game? Whoever that is, has the answer :P

1.) VIW 108 points, 231 max
2.) SNinja 55 points, 215 max
3.) Stahlgewittern 60 points, 200 max
4.) LEA 33 points, 191 max
5.) 101st 42 points, 172 max
6.) FBG 33 points, 163 max
7.) Lost Wolves 21 points, 156 max
SNinja and Stalgewittern are close as well as LEA and 101st. I think this is the correct ranking for now, though.

I don't want to be a jerk or anything, but MoOoOoOoOoO was almost guaranteed victory.

He will still likely win the tournament regardless, but it just adds an unnecessary loss.

A redo is something the two players must agree to do, then discuss it with Chris. It's not anyone else's decision on whether to redo the tournament.

@Whoever mentioned the Darklords:

2 of their players on the roster joined all of their tournaments. FK was in 1v1s, all of which he was booted from, one an auto win. MrHymen on 2v2 won a game with an AI (my alt) against a team with 2 boots I think. So Darklords have completed 0 games with full teams, and have 1 auto-win from 1v1, where a member of the Poon Squad did not join.

No one is a jerk, Awesome, we’re all just discussing the logic of the situation. I think everyone agrees Moo would have most likely won---*had* he joined the game in time. But he didn’t. So he lost. Usain Bolt could win almost any race he enters. But he *has to enter* the race to win. He has to show up for the match. Moo didn’t. Why do we have the Boot deadline if we’re not going to honor it? That’s the main issue, as I see it.

The secondary issue, is letting Moo replay the game may affect the final standings between VIW, Ninjas, & Stahl. The outcome of Moo and Seizure’s game could influence the final standings. Now, it looks as though VIW will advance to Div B without difficulty. BUT (and this is a small probability ‘but’), there’s a chance that VIW could lose a few of their final matches and drop in the rankings. If Moo is allowed to replay his game, it affects more than just him and his opponent—it affects the rankings overall. And that’s not fair to all the players who joined their games before the Boot deadline.

So the rules according to Chris is that games can be replayed so long as both parties agree to do it AND the boot occured during the picking stage. If if occured after this, it can't be redone. In Mooo's case the boot was during the picking, so it can be redone if the Wolf player agrees.

XD I do in fact check forums, I just don't say anything.

In regards to the Clan League game, I'm up for a rematch as it would be the more honourable thing to do, even though I'm almost guaranteed to lose lol.

I don't understand the rationale for this decision. Why is a boot during picks unimportant? Can you or Chris please explain?

well my current opinion is that they should not redo, and you are right Farragut, that it effects more than just the 2 players involved.

however if you had to ask any other player in the entire league, I bet they would accept a redo for that one.
So that argument although valid, would not work to stop the redo.

The real argument that is valid indeed, is about redo of other people who get booted, and if others don't have the same privilege, why should Moo?

I think that is a valid point enough to convince me that you are right on this.
Theoretically moo should not redo.

Then there is another problem of it being in the hands of the administration.
If Chris(the host) decides to make it a rule(maybe already done?) that a redo's are handled only after a through consideration of the circumstances by the administration, then it does not matter if you are right in your claim because the administration decides about what was fair or not.

Well I do not like this much but if it is part of the rules we agreed up joining the tournament then chris would be in the right.

The question is can the administration make such a rule while the tournament has already started?

Here is where it gets hazy a little bit and since I do not want to make an argument out of ignorance, I would abstain for having an opinion on the matter until I know more.

Though theoretically your argument is valid without the administration argument, in my opinion.

Boot during picks is important because the game is still equal. If you get booted in the middle of the game, people can argue that they were ahead. So, if picks have already been posted by the booted player, they don't get a 2nd chance.

yea apart that there is no advantage, the game did not start yet, so the boot was not because of any bad reason but most likely it is because of unforeseen circumstances.

Since unforeseen circumstances happen to everyone, it gets more understanding.
(eg connection problems, work, emergencies, hospitalized, etc...)

2.) Stahlgewittern 71 points, 197 max
3.) SNinja 55 points, 215 max

4.) 101st 45 points, 169 max
6.) FBG 36 points, 163 max
7.) Lost Wolves 18 points, 142 max
Alright, so VIW is still in a safe 1st place. Stalgewittern has more points, but SNinja has more max points, so that is very close. LEA and 101st are essentially tied for 4th. FBG has widened its gap over the Wolves.
