What is history, who are "they," and what aren't they telling us?

do you expect serious answers with such a question in this fórum? the question might be good... wrong place

But it is off-topic..

As the old saying goes 'history is determined by the winners' so they and the winners. But in modern context history is not that but everything that ever happened to everything and everyone, in the past.

Although it kind of makes sense in some contexts that history might be determined by the winners, the saying is 'history is written by' or better 'favours' the winners.

How are apples and oranges supposed to be compared? Possible answers involve, but are not limited to, statistics, chemistry, physics, linguistics, and philosophy.

That's a good question meant for terrible answers.

apples are red or green. while oranges are orange. If you're colorblind, oranges are circular while apples are heart shaped.
