This is what it says in the help...

"Each turn, the players are randomized into a new move order. Each player's first order is executed in this random order, then each player's second order, and each player's third.

This means that you always have a 50% chance that your first order will happen before your opponents first order.

For the next round of attacks, the order is reversed so the last player in the first round gets the first move in the second round. It then reverses again for the third round, and so on. "

But if you look at this game, turns 2,3,4,5 I was chasing Khan round the board and he was getting first go each time, without playing any priority cards...

SO, is this a bug, or have I misunderstood?

To link a game, you have to open the Settings panel and copy the "Link to Game" section.

But I suspect the answer to your question is that you misunderstood. 50% chance means that it will be re-randomized each turn, not that it alternates turns.

If you flip a coin four times, that does not guarantee you that you'll get two heads and two tails. There's a chance you'll get four heads.

Ah right, I've confused this bit...

"For the next round of attacks, the order is reversed so the last player in the first round gets the first move in the second round."]

That doesn't mean that if grey gets first move on turn 1 that I get it on turn 2 :(

thereis no turn 5..... so he went first 3 times in a row. the chance of that happening is: .5*.5*.5=.123 or 1/8, so not THAT uncommon

I understand that now, but it sounded like it was supposed to alternate.

on turn one lets say you make three orders in a head to head game and by chance you get first move. so on turn one the orders will be ABBAAB. on turn two lets say you get it again itll be ABBAAB. on turn 3 lets say he gets first move itll be BAABBA.

You are confusing "rounds of attacks" and "turns". In this description, "rounds" are not turns, they are the series of moves you've programmed in for a specific turn.

In a current 4 player game of mine (2x2) the same guy went first 5 times in a row: .25x.25x.25x.25x.25 = .000976 -- that's about 1 in 1000. Considering it's small earth it particularly sucks

seems fizzer already answered this, but I'll reiterate.

each turn the order is randomly decided, it has no relevance to the order of the prior turn.

Your confusion is mixing the terminology of Rounds and Turns. FBG-Dragon's answer is the one that solves the mix up.

yeah you're right.. what he ""d was describing the abbaab system, which affects the order of orders within a turn, then there is a new random start for the next turn which then will go back and forth.

It's still f-cking annoying and I can complain about it. But that you for the statistics 101 explanation that flipping a coin is 50% odds each time (less odds of it landing perpendicular to the floor or gravity ceasing to operate).

Oh and he went first 6 times in a row, so 1 in 5000 odds of that occurring and yes, 25% odds each individual turn. He's gone before me 9 turns in a row and counting which is only 1 in 500 odds. This turn it will actually decide the game whether he goes before me.

It's certainly annoying when that happens, but I think it's better than the alternative. The other way to handle it would be to reverse the order every turn, but then you would have to try to constantly keep track of who got first move last turn, and I don't think that would add any fun to the game (it would actually make it less fun, for me).

I agree. But what I've asked Randy to implement is randomizing which team goes first and then alternating between (or among) teams, such that in a 5x5 it would be impossible to have all 5 players on Team A go before Team B. Or even ABBCCDD (where in a 2x2 whichever team got 1st move also gets last move). The present system produces too many games decided by turn order. Especially on a small world, no fog map.

Maybe there's a solution for two team games only and games with 3+ teams continue to be randomized across all players. But the present system is too imbalanced.

I bleieve Randy had this on his update list awhile back...
