Okay so if you've made a Custom Scenario, you probably know that with large map the drop down bar to assign slots takes a very long time, as you have to scroll down the list once there's more than 5 slots. And with maps like Nations 2014 and more, this is quite annoying.

So I propose that there be a feature, I think it would be simple, where you could assign a territory or bonus a slot simply by pressing the corresponding key on the keyboard. Yes I know that there are double letter slots, and for those that's when the drop down box should be used. But personally I never go past around Slot X-Y.

Here's the Uservoice: http://warlight.uservoice.com/forums/77051-warlight-features/suggestions/10623327-keyboard-shortcuts-for-custom-scenarios

But... you can do that.

Just press Tab and then the slot leter you want.

There are some tricks though:

>Tapping N might switch to "Slot N" or "Neutral". Double-tap it if you don't get what you wanted.

Example: Pressing N on a Neutral Territory assigns N.
Pressing N on a territory assigned to Slot N assigns it to Neutral.
Pressing N when assigned to any slot that is not N, It goes to either Neutral or N - just tap again if you didn't get the one you wanted.

>Slots after Z (AA, AB, AC...) are ssigned by tapping A multiple times rather than tapping A then another letter.

For example, slot AC:

WRONG: Tab + A + C (ends up selecting C).

RIGHT: Tab + A + A (is in AA now) + A (AB) + A (AC).

---

However, it still IS damn annoying.

In a 40 slots game, slots go up to slot AN. AN is, well, A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A + A.

Assigning AN to multiple territories (happens often in World Nations 2012/2014 and European Nations) is a goddamn pain in the a**. I leave the smallest nations to the later slots and I make sure the bigger ones are ALWAYS the earlier slots (A, B, C, D, E...) to avoid that.

Having a way to assign multiple bonuses and territories a the same time with just one Tab + Tap combinations would be much better. How about Shift-Clicking to pick many teritories? In that case I'd only have to Tab + Tap those many A's once all through the slot making.

I'm sure this petition won't work cause, well, Fizzer. But worth a shot. Signed.

Sadly, John, slots only go up to AX. :P

...And honestly, the slot background colors should be avaiable to pick in games. Even if member only. I mean, definetely better than double-teals (the two blus that look the same) or the trap pink (looks like neutral territory).

The best is you can Ctrl+click multiple territories and switch ownership for all selected.

I've been caught out by the Trap Pink in diplos before.

Your little essay there should be written in gold, Zeph.

Zeph covered most of it, but another important thing to note, is that the slots that have more territories should be on the left hand side of your keyboard, and the slots that have less territories should be on the right hand side of your keyboard. I find this nice, because I can use two fingers on my left hand for doing [TAB+LETTER] and my right hand using the mouse to click. With letters like P, unless you have rather large hands, you must use two hands on the keyboard, or quickly change, making your hand float from TAB to P, every couple of seconds, which I find a pain. It's all about simplicity.
