Map rejected - what is wrong: 11/23/2015 15:44:24

Hello, today I got the info that my map was rejected from release. The reasoning was:

"All territories that connect but don't physically touch must have some
indicator on the map showing that they connect. It must be possible to
determine all connections just by looking at the map"

however I am almost certain that there is no single territory which violates that rule. Since this is my 1st map, could somebody more experienced take a look at it and tell what is wrong?

https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=49888

I suppose that the problematic territoris may be the ones inside obstacles (like in bottle of vodka) - at first glance they are separate, but i included "satelite" and visible territory nearing each of it so technically they should be 100% legitimate... ?

Eventually thios could be piano buttons - however their interconnections are quite logic and derive from the picture of piano itself

What do you think?

The ones in Piano violate that rule. They do not physically touch each other.

Also:
Welcome to Hell
Bridle
Habemus Papum bonus has a bunch
Vitaminum W as well
Polska Walzcy

A person should not have to click on a territory to figure out the connections. You need a connection line between those.

yet theoreticaly, all of them (apart from piano) conect each other - like island archipelagos which are popular on many maps. But I see your point of view. Do yu think taht repairing only piano would do the job?

I think the Piano is the least of the issues. That one you can pretty much know the connections.

The other ones (like bottle of vodka, etc) where there is more of a distance between territories, I think you need to make a connecting line there.

I get what you are doing (can only get into bottle through the opening), but it isn't as obvious because you don't have 'terrain' around the bottle as a visible barrier. You could get creative with the connection and not just use a line. Like maybe liquid drops in the bottle, a rosary in the papal one. Stuff that would not detract visually but serve the purpose of connections.

Certainly I'd use some facy connections, In fact I have tried that, but the problem is I have already used 99% of max size and there is no way i can add anything complex int it. That was the main reason why I used this "trick" with multipart territories as they looked far batter than lines and did not blurr the images. However, it looks that I will need to embrace the lines anyway :/

@ stronk as hell XD

Can you eliminate some nodes from territories?

You could also simplify the background (surrounding nations)

Possibly yes, although I,ve been already scrathing excessive nodes for some time and also simplified everything that was possible to so Idont except that there is much space left to acquire that way:P I'll think about it though. Thx for your help!!

I don't know if you've done some work on it since the last posts but it looks fine connections wise, so if you've updated it then it looks great now and it should be fine :)

The Vodka is much better, the linearity is more obvious now, and the piano connections are logical.

Looks like it could be fun :)

Edit: It's the little semicircles, such as in "NMDA" and "Whiskey is for girls" that make it easier to see the flow :)

Also the pattern in the surrounding nations is much nicer now, very pretty :)

I haven not made any amendments since opening of that thread so it is rejected version, however I really apreciate your enthusiasm Fleecemaster :) I hoped that those "little semicircles" would be enough to have this map accepted but it looks like I will have to make it more clasic way 8]

I think it's more relating to the fact some territories in in multiple parts that don't seem to logical connect.

On close inspection everything looks clear and logical, maybe the problem is it's breaking the rule that "connections need to be obvious at a glance"

Perhaps the map can just be altered aesthetically to make it clearer when looking on overview?

OMG, I'd rate this map 6/5
That said yeah, some of the territory connections are not too obvious.

And "Disco Polo" bonus and no "Akcent" territory!? :O

The connections are clearer but I think it doesn't look as nice, is there a way to make some of the links mould into the pictures a bit nicer maybe? Like what you did with Walesa, using the hairline and the side of the mouth, it looks nicer to me. You could probably run the piano connections along the edge of the keys, for example?

Just a thought :)

Ok, I'll try. I dont like the present look either :/ The piano is a minor problem - it can be done easily and certainly more neatly - i think ill try to extend the territories without using the lines, just as you have proposed. Bigger problem is with the horse - anything placed across his legs will look ugly imho... ill have to think it through
