I think everyone can put this in great use in the hope maybe someone can progress or alter the map. Anyway I'm not able to continue it. Enjoy!
The only thing you have to do is go to the site press ctrl + s and save it to your pc then change background in inkscape from white to black so the borders become visible.

The real issue is with the Bonus Links. Those digital numbers on every territory were too tiny to fit in a number so the map quickly got rejected. I'm sharing this to know if somebody can solve that with a clever solution or wants to alter it.

Anyone interested? All ideas welcome !

Diplomacy world huge but the shapes are outlined in white so you can't notice it on a white background but you can on a black background.

I think because there is no way!
If you change the bonus, it is not clear how high on the map of the bonus is actually!

Here is an example with "standard" bonus links to compare

How about having a big circle for every country and within it put the bonus links that can't fit into territories. The bigger territories can have the link in them. It'll be kind of inconsistent, but still might work.

I only see two solutions unfortunately.

-1) Group your territories into bigger bonuses, like Issander's map for example.

-2) Reduce the amount of territories enough so you can place bonus links.

I'm sorry man, this was a great map, but it is hard to do on a world map, too many seas... Anyway, Europe maps are way better for these things, maybe one day we see a 3k Europe map

I feel for you cos you've clearly put a lot of effort into this.

I could only think to try make the bonus links clearer: https://www.warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=50032

For some reason Warlight's distorting the bonus link objects a little; the numbers are perfectly clear in the SVG: http://imgur.com/C6szf92

Whilst this might be a temporary solution, I think the main problem is going to be that territories are too small; they're barely squeezing in a 2 digit army: http://imgur.com/ivyZanO

A map this size will easily accumulate stacks of 100+, eventually 1000+ and then it will not be very clear to distinguish the army totals in a territory when these numbers all overlap.

What this map truly needs is for the canvas size limit on warlight to be increased. I think it's called page size in inkscape. If your entire map could be scaled up, the bonus links could all be normal sized, and thus fit nicely, and the army numbers would also shrink to fit. I'm not sure why this 3330x2400px page size limit exists in warlight--I thought SVG's vector graphics meant it can be scaled without affecting file size. I'm sure there is probably a reason for it, (though I don't know it) and as long as that limit exists, it's sad to say it but I just don't see a way.

EDIT: Check out the Caribbean when you preview the map to see what I mean.

I'm currently working on doing this with Traditional bonus links, I'll see how far I can get.

I encourage you to, Imperator. I think most non-European lands could fit, although some of these might have to be merged..

That's my plan, Brazil is working out great so far. Although I'm certain i'll have to merge some in europe, and possibly in Asia as well.

Perhaps having minimaps of the dense areas will be needed. e.g. A bonus map of Europe in the Atlantic, of India in the Indian ocean, of East Asia in the West Pacific etc... As well as deleting the pointless islands.

You probably over merged in Europe- there is barely more territories in it than in the world nations0 you could easily fit in more with the numbers still fitting. Also, bonus links should not completely block all view of a connection (like in the Swiss one).

You can check out what I did on it here:

http://www.warlight.net/Play?PreviewMap=50051

I may return to it at some point in the future, but like mroobling said, it may turn out that it's going to barely have more territories the world nations.

So many unnamed territories and so few bonuses, no wonder you don't think you got far.

I was really hoping this would get published, it was an exciting project. It's too bad warlight is such a Nazi about regulations
