You might want to try this site out: https://petercollingridge.appspot.com/svg-editor

I would reccommend it because it once helped me to reduce the World Diplomacy Huge map from 2.5k to 1.7k so I could upload it on WarLight. It greatly worked!

I already tryed this site and its like a joke, because it only reduce the size for 0,X mega byte, but i will have a map with around 30 mega bytes at the end if i will have added all territorys 2000~. So it cant be the solution how others made maps with that much territorys without to have to much mega bytes.

Really noone of you know how they do that? Anyone of you already made a map with +300 territorys?

Nice thing you said. I used the other ways to draw also the buttons which looks like pens but they draw double lines or curves together with straigt lines i cant draw how i want it.

Furthermore i can reduce the points by press strg and L, but this way i can only reduce the map size by 4 mega bytes back to 1,5. But if i continue and finish my map with 2000 territorys then i will have 9 mega bytes this way.

Try doing File-->Save As and select Plain SVG instead of Inkscape SVG in the bottom-right corner right above the save button..

I dont know what you mean with "in the bottom-right corner right above the save button" but i saved it now as normal svg file and it didnt change much (0,0~ mb)

check some of my maps (my profile links them) i drew all them with the pen tool, you can make any curve you want, and it wont have that jittery look up close like when you use the pencil tool. most of my maps dont go anywhere near 2k

Can you send me the svg so I could edit the script to optimize the size? http://imgh.us seems a good site to share svg's.

If i use the pen under the pencil, it draws most time lines and sometimes it draws hardly controlable curves. And the other pen draws 2 lines at once next together.

Is there a other pen next to these 2? Or is it possible to change their drawstyle with any option?

Belgian i already tryed a optimizer and it changed nearly nothing.

Could it be, that there is a way to draw territorys like on a paper? I would first draw the whole continent outline only, and then i could draw the territorys on this big object.

This might help:

Also, the pen which draw straight lines is by far the best tool to use.

Simple select object then Ctrl L as much as you can afford for each object. I'm working on a 3200 territory map, and I am managing under 2.0 megabytes.

I tryed it but anyhow it happened nothing. This explaination sucks very hard by the way. Bad names, terms and bad pictures. Furthermore they let it looks like as a side thing for anything that ppl make their first big map will make it wrong and can put it into the rycle bin. Great way to harass people. It is treated as esoteric knowledge, because it is.

Read what i have written before Alexander, i already did that and its far away to be enough.

something must be wrong in my opinion - even witout reducing the number of nodes (ctrl-L) this map should not have been 5mb in size... how did you paint all taht lines - was there a real map in the bottom (in the form of bitmap?) - maybe it is still there hidden behind background or moved to layer which was set not to be visible?

I missed that in my original skim because ctrl is written in German. strg is the apparently the german word for ctrl.

I'm not sure why it is so big. Can you post the file?

@Belgian Gentleman - your program is a miracle!!! It decreased size of my Polandball map from 2 to 1.2 mb's using "conservative" option only!!!! Now I can pack this map with even more unnescessary graphic stuf!!!
