Hera start being active in the games you play and not leave your clanmates alone and then start asking for members to join your clan.

For a recruiter to get booted in games while he is online and while he is playing with a clanmate dosnt say a lot of good things about you.

I want proof our members were " harassing " you. If you don't have any proof then you honestly should consider a day job because harassing younger clans and trying to ruin there name isn't working out for you

AOE respectfully declines the offer, request you do actual recruitment rather than steal our players by offering false rewards and promises to members

to be fair, what one calls stealing, someone else may call recruitment. and if your members feel more comfortable with olympus, isnt it AOEs fault if they want to change the clan?

Seriously? Listen you jackass. Apparently some of AOE members thought it would be cool to unite the clans to form one good Greek Rp clan. The Senate however found out based on your history that you would never play fair send give AOEs members fair representation. Now that you lost your doing this petty gesture huh? Our suspicions were right on. AOE is larger and friendlier and unlike you not power hungry. I think I speak for most of AOE when I say....go fuck Yourself

Admiral Hood, Im afraid there isnt much to explain, but your profil made me kinda curious. did you ever consider to be part of a rp clan? =)

Generally, if you're worried about other clans "stealing" your players, it means you weren't doing a good job keeping them. IMHO, you should either just step it up on your end if you really want to keep those players (e.g., if you're a diplo clan losing players because they've actually learned how to play and are no longer satisfied with diplos, you could try providing a strategic environment for them) or just acknowledge that your clan isn't a good fit for them and let them move on.

If clans don't compete for players, they don't really have much of an incentive to improve themselves and aim to better deliver value to their members. For most leaders, it's still like a childhood game where you pretend to be some type of royalty but don't demonstrate any form of real leadership.

When I was leading CORP, I remember clans like USSR/Wolves/etc. wanting our players (although obviously no open campaign was launched) and a few others worrying that we were stealing theirs (which, to my knowledge, wasn't due to any efforts on our part- the only clan I remember going after was DARKLORDS, and that's only to pick up good strategic players that didn't feel like they were gaining much from the clan). There were probably a lot more recruitment attempts that I don't know of, but in any case the only way the leadership at the time responded was by trying to find out more and more about what other clans did better than us + constantly making sure that our clan was able to really give players what they wanted. At least on my end, the goal was to make CORP a clan that was able to deliver more value to its players than they would be getting from any other clan they could be a part of.

Apparently, other clans don't do that. I've seen quite a few react with insecurity rather than a desire to improve themselves.

Why do so many clans have the aim of trying to get so many players?

It just creates a weaker clan in so many ways. Make a clan with people you play with alot, or join one with people you have played with.

Clans are suppose to make the actual game of warlight more fun, yet to me it seems like for many other clans it just creates problems and hassles for members.

Buns157 - CORP in my opinion is actually the exception to your theory. They've been able to absorb more players and maintain the same structural framework they've wanted. In other words, they haven't gotten worse as they've grown. People who've left CORP and those still in it can confirm this.

Heh, Buns, thats what I did. I noticed how cool most members of TJC were and I joined. Not that hard.

Aha, who'd you beat in lynx knyte?

I think knyte (among others) really made CORP what it is right now, but it wasn't from growing for the sake of growing, like the clans I think buns was referring to.

Well I remember when I left a lot of players were saying...lets go for 200 members. But that was probably a joke because they're still steady at about 100+

I doubt it, some members probably did want to become a massive clan. I just don't think that's what knyte and others main objective was, well I wouldn't know, I wasn't actually in CORP, just close to them. I don't think it's a bad thing if you want to be massive, just not how I rate clans :)

I feel obliged to comment, because my clan was mentioned. The Olympus team was half Olympus, 3 CORP, and 1 AWF. That means almost nothing for the standards of Olympus.
