Living far from Puerto Rico and with few Puerto Rican friends, I don't have the best knowledge of the island.

Puerto Rico has a large population, most of whom are coming to the US because Puerto Rico is not a state. There seems to be some people who think it should be. Opinions?

so Puerto Rico will never become a US state unless there is some benefit they aren't already getting.

Doesn't matter, half the people on Warlight won't even notice the change. However, if you want to solve their problems you should make them a state, although i would focus on our problems first rather than take their burden. Of course, its not our problem yet.
