I was wondering what's the difference between the old 1 v 1 and the new 1 v 1 Strategic Templates? I'm asking this question since I recently decided to play more Strategy games than Diplomacy Games.

Old Strat 1v1 used Medium Earth and had 0% WR.
New Strat 1v1 used Modified Medium Earth and has 0% SR.

Differences:

- 0% SR means that, given a # of attacking troops and a # of defending troops, the # of survivors on boths sides is calculable- e.g., you can always take a 2 with a 3 (given standard kill rates)

- Modified Medium Earth has one less territory in East Russia and Eastern US, making both bonuses consist of 6 territories instead of 7 (putting them on par with bonuses in Kazakhstan and Australia and making it possible for them to be taken in 2 turns with just one start in the region and 0% SR)

Biggest difference is luck:

Older Strategic 1v1 - 16% Weighted Random Luck
Old Strategic 1v1 - 0% Weighted Random Luck
New "Strategic" 1v1 - 0% Straight Round Luck

Move order shifted:
Older and Old Strategic 1v1 - Random Move Order
New 1v1 Ladder Games - Move Order Cycles between players

The map has been simplified as well:
Older and Old Strategic 1v1 - Original Medium Earth
New Template - Modified Medium Earth
