Its the most interesting game ive seen in a while. Timi goes from good position after picks to bad position when he sits around for ages, to lost position when he expands instead of fighting, and turns it around with some luck and fantastic guesswork. He is in his element in close tactical games like this one.
Yeah, turn 6 not sure why Jupiter doesn't hit you in Russia in first three moves. I say that knowing he's a better player than me, but I would have certainly hit early there with the stack advantage. The OP attack into Scan next turn was good by Timi.
I think Timinator calls upon some Medusa effect. Everyone turns to stone when they play Timinator in 1v1. I think if you cover up his name whenever you have to play him in ladder you have a much greater chance at beating him.
That being said, in this game specifically it's hard to tell if Jupiter threw the game away, or Timinator won it back after graciously handing it to Jupiter on a golden platter (which was promptly turned to stone after he looked at it, what a shame.)
Here is my question to timi: turn 2 why didnt you hit scand? There are no other multipicks on the map, so you know at best he has CA and moved 8 to mexico. Assuming he did that he has to place atleast 1 army there turn 2 to compelte CA. So hit with everything on turn 2 you have 11v8 and he possibly completes CA which you border anyway. That is best case scenario for him. You could also have used 3v2s in SA and hit with 8 after 2 delays.
I cant say for sure, but i think Timi was trying to play safe there. He probably thought that Jupe would deploy a few guys in Scan so that he doesnt get wiped, so he played safe and made sure he got SA. If i was jupe, i would have placed a few guys there for sure.
I agree with you, I would have taken SA with 2 3v2s and hit him with everything else last order.
