Group G1 is finished! For the first time in the league, we had an unbreakable tie. INSIDE, Hades, and Oh Noes split their results with each other, but beat everyone else. To separate the top 3, it was necessary to have a tie-break tournament. INSIDE was the winner of this tournament, but well done to each of you for a very entertaining and high quality contest this season!

in the prediction game the current leader is OxTheArtist with 30 points, followed by me with 27, Hades with 21 and a of players with 15-19 points. With 3 groups still to finish there is 24 points still to get (I have allready given points for Алексейs win), although some rankings may allready be decided in these groups (havnt checked).

Most points from group predictions:
A: noone got it perfect (in fact noone expected Gibs to finish in top 3 - well done!). Ox and Phucil predicted huddyj as winner and Buns as runner up.
B: No perfect prediction either. Ox and Master Bjarke both had Smiley and Twolker as 2nd and 3rd getting 6 points.
C: not finished
D: not finished
E: Hard group to predict it seems. Hades, Ox, Bonsai and I all got 4 points by having on right and 1 rightfully in top 3.
F: First group with a perfect prediction. I predicted Ink Splatoon, Large Shrimp and Skilled in that order
G1: And here we have two people making perfect predictions. Great job Ryzys and zanbato! With (almost) everyone having Inside Hades and Oh Noes in their top 3 it was all about getting the order right. A lot of people got Hades as 2nd right, but had Oh Noes come out on top rather than INSIDE.

Group D is finally done! Anyone able to explain the tiebreaker that placed me ahead of cookie?

Seriously, mercifully finished. I'm not sure why the tourney placed you ahead of him because he beat you. My interpretation would be this:

Group D has finished, and what a tight finish there was! Bonsai takes out the win, but for the first time, the league rules have forced me to make an adjustment to the group placings. On the tournament page, zanbato has been named in 3rd place ahead of cookie, but according to league tie-break rules, I am reversing their positions, as cookie won the head-to-head battle between the two players. Unfortunately, this does affect promotion, as zanbato now finishes 4th, and cookie has already messaged me to say he has decided to stay on in the league.

Well everyone, the good news is that Group C has finished, bringing an end to season 4 of the small earth league!

Oh my goodness, what a complicated group! There have thankfully been no unbreakable ties in this group, but there will be a major reshuffle in the positions after applying the league tie-break rules!

I honestly have no clue how Fizzer's tournament programming works out the 3-way tie in a round-robin, but it's different to the league system. My apologies to those in Group C who will end up finishing lower than what the tournament page says, but I'll try to explain the tie-break process we use.

Basically, if there are 3 players, each with the same win/loss ratio, and with split results against each other (1-1), then the next tie-break is a secondary win/loss ratio. The 'wins' in this ratio are the combined total wins of those players that the tied player won against, and the 'losses' in this ratio are the combined total wins of those players that the tied player lost against. In the event that all players are still tied, we go to a tie-break tournament to split the tie. If however, there are only 2 out of the 3 players that are still tied, we go back to the head-to-head between those 2 players only.

I guess Fizzer did not program this kind of a tie breaker at all. He did not even mention using a random number generator there. So people do not even have equal chances to place 1st in the event of multiple-way tie. This is why there is no coin round robin tournaments.
