So I've been trying to devise some workarounds for Fizztler's restrictions on the query game API (which doesn't let me query games I create unless I join them too, making running IPL quite time-consuming unless I bow down to the create game API's restrictions and start kicking off low-level players who join the league to build their skill). One approach I'm taking is creating an extra team each game that contains me and declining from all involved accounts.

However, my worry here is that- depending on how Fizzolini's programmed things- the game could be perceived as an XvXv0 (when it's actually an XvX) and think that there's an uneven teams issue.

It's my understanding that games with uneven teams are Practice games, but I'm also not sure whether Ranked games that are created with even teams are automatically converted to Practice games. Based on this game (https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=10330170), if they are, it's not evident in Settings- so I can't tell whether a game like this one (https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=10330154) is actually Ranked or Practice because a game that should be Practice is still registered as Ranked.

Basically, are these two games Ranked or Practice? How could you determine that?

First game is practice.
The second game is ranked.

You can simply open settings to see that, I don't have access to the api and can't help you if the problem is to be able to tell if they're ranked/practice using the api.

It's weird. I'm pretty sure the "making it a practice game" happens when the calculation of points happens.

Okay that's odd, because the first game had "Ranked" when I checked. Maybe it takes some time, or possibly it's an issue with caching. Thanks, Hennns!

Can you create a 3 player FFA then decline? Would that not then create a ranked 1v1?

"Ranked games that are created with even teams are automatically converted to Practice games."
This does happen, and you can tell cos the settings become practise once the game starts, same for if an AI is added to the game (before, not during)

I have no idea how this works in regards to the API though, which I think was your original question.

That would work, but I'd also like to do this for 2v2 and 3v3.

It's not really that workable of a solution since it still requires manual game creation (or at least manual declining) but the thing is that the Query Game API might work for games that I've declined (not entirely sure since I haven't run that test in a while) so it would let me at least automatically check which games are finished. Then game creation should be a breeze.

yep ... got points for it.

Team A: 2 players

B:2 players

C:declined me

now i'm gonna test if i am in the game.

hmm. weird It seems the check for uneven teams happens when the game ends. So as long as you aren't in the game when it ends knyte you should be good.

How can you not be in the game though?

Wait, if you're declining then the API query won't work, from what I understand?

Let me test that one.

Declined player still show up for query API games, I thought.
