It's possible but I doubt it. Why would Snowden announce it now rather than in 2013 when he first leaked files? Add that to the equation that he's Russia's tool now and well, it's not that hard to see that this is probably Russian propaganda.

Yeah, that's a fake that's been going around since at least 2014.

You can easily tell just by reading the Snowden quote and realizing that it reads exactly like a non-native English speaker trying to imitate an actual English speaker.

THe question is why did the US army remove any proof (DNA, picture, footages) that could have definitely stopped and ended the rumors and these suspicions.
