It will be a while before we start 8 (please don't ask for a timeline until CL7 is completed, which you can follow the progress of on the threads for each division). At any rate, I am taking down a list of any new clans to join for CL8. Please let me know here if you are joining the CL, and ALSO who will be running that team (does not have to be the clan leader). I will edit this message with a list of things you'll need to know.

Also, if you are in the CL7 now, and are NOT participating in CL8, let me know here. Otherwise I assume you are still in.

Things to know about Clan League for those new to it (some rules may change for CL8 slightly):

1) It has been running 7 seasons (in case that was not obvious). Started by JSA, ran by Miyagi in season 5, run by me in Season 6+. I have a committee of 5 people (including me) that decide on rules, etc. They represent most of Division A.

2) Clan League is a promotion/relegation system. Usually 7 clans per division, all new clans start at the bottom (would be F this coming season). Top two promoted/bottom two relegated for each division.

3) Clans compete in round robin tournaments (against every clan in their division). Current format is Six 1v1 tournaments, Three 2v2s, Two 3v3s. And score points based on each victory. Most points in division A wins the league (and also determines promotions and relegations).

4) Current max tournaments per player is 4, so current minimum is 5 players per clan to fill those 18 players slots.

5) Each clan MUST have a clan representative that is my main point of contact. Duties are:
-Check with clan mates for interest in playing
-Inform clan mates of what they need to do (join RRs when they are created)
-Submit clan roster
-Submit clan lineup
-Follow up with anyone who does not join RRs

6) Current Agenda for me/committee:
-Discuss possible rule changes (boots, retirements)
-Gather new templates (if you have ideas you can post them here. Please post an example game with it, not just a template...so we don't have to go through create game mechanics)
-Trim/refine/vet template list to manageable size
-ruling on XS/ONE spot in B
-Finalize rules, post on forums
-CL8 Division A leaders vote on templates
-Get rosters from Clan 'leaders'
-Get scorekeepers for divisions
-Create google sheet for CL8 w/templates and scorekeepers added
-Get Lineups from Clan 'leaders'

Cool, remember alts must be declared (I know there are a lot in there). So someone cannot play for 2 clans in the same CL.

ONE will be playing, whether or not it's decided that we're in B.

On the previous season from 11 templates there were:
3 on europe map
3 on ME map (1 on MME)
2 on imperium romanum

maybe it is time to increase the variety of the maps?

Hello Chris,

As some clans are already pepping up (101st Included) I would like to know about what templates will be in CL8 Including rules and other terms. Templates would be more important for myself personally and internally at the moment. If the CL council has still to discuss on those aspects could it be possible to give a rough date to know of the updates/changes?

Unless the rules have changed, templates are decided after CL7 is over and voted on largely (or entirely) by the clans competing in A. Rough dates were, at least for CL7, hard to determine- we ended up getting specific templates a month or two before we had to submit our rosters, iirc.

Hey there, just a few questions.

1. How will boots be handled?

This is a very important issue, because there was a lot of debate. Will there be remakes for all games with boots? All games with a player booted at the picking stage? No games at all? The list goes on, but after last season I think a formal rule must be introduced.

2. The XS / ONE! Issue

This isn't really my business, but I'm intrigued by it, and it is a really important question that needs to be discussed. Also, this sort of applies to LEA / Acme Co. All but 2 of LEA's competing members joined Acme Co. so it is kind of relevant here, although the situation is different.

3. Can anybody submit templates?

I remember, last time the clans of Group A voted on the templates. How were the templates decided? I have a few that I hope to be able to submit, and I think each clan can submit one template, regardless of what Division they're in, correct me if I'm wrong.
