so you refuse to admit you lost due to a lack of skill.

Sounds like someone didn't read the settings, didn't like the settings, and started raging (and was a total leech to teamate, too).

This. I get shit about settings soooo much.

If you don't want to join a game you don't like, read the settings, dammit.

LOL a lack of skill. I can't anymore. This is too much.

Offer still stands to play 1v1 on a ladder map. Until you accept, you probably should stay away from the lack of skill argument.

This whole posting is a perfect demonstration of Brandolini's principle. There is no point to trying to refute such an amazing amount of BS.

You're just going to continue falling back onto the ''muh ladders'' thing aren't you?

No one denies the fact that you might be a skilled player... but you can't deny the fact that you lack the skill to play on these settings. Sure, the lack of skill was caused by your inexperience (again, on these settings), but it's still a lack of skill. Can't blame you, there are so many fancy settings combinations on WL that you can't master them all, can you? But please do not deny the fact that you haven't fared well in this game, which means that you lack experience on this template and therefore, you're not skilled enough on these settings.

You can't adapt to new maps you admitted it. Thats a lack of skill m9, you need to work on adapting to new maps.

Man Klarik, I'm impressed. Can you teach me to adapt to a game before it begins? Because you know, placement is KINDA important. Just a little bit. But you prefer to not adapt. You'd rather just host those highly customized maps and take those easy wins.

Still waiting for you to accept the ladder 1v1.

absolutely correct. I was inexperienced playing a game with those specific settings, and after one round I would now have a good handle on how to competitively play those specific settings. Klarik is trolling beyond that scope. It's a nice change to have a reasonable person to discuss with.

I don't actually get much hate on this (I crushed FK on Hannibal at the Gates II, though, one time), and I run some of the most heterodox settings there are (one pick, long lasting sanction cards, weak but plentiful blockade and abandon cards, and I don't really like mainstream maps).

So basically, you joined game with settings that you don't like... and try to blame game host for this fact? This is your fault, not anyone else's.
And can we see your 1v1 ladder games, now that you mention them?

You know, andresmb, I'm wondering why you're agreeing with me and disagreeing with Klarik, since I'm basically supporting his arguments, just wording myself better.

As a casual and sporadic player, havn't gotten involved in playing RT ladder games. That said, the game I invited dear Klarik to is the medium earth Auto Game that has been in the lobby for years, and used for many ladder tourneys.

And he has yet to accept the challenge. He expressed a preference to rematch on his customized 2v2. I'd would take him up on that, but it would need to be 1v1 to remove the variability of allies.

lel I never said I wanted to do a rematch with you. I have nothing to prove. You're an egomaniac and started making a bunch of excuses when you lost the match. If you weren't such a poor sport I would have left you alone but you're so insufferable and egotistical I just had to put it on the forums. You are a joke.

Oh I wouldn't insult yourself by equating your well reasoned and fleshed out arguments with that of Klarik's.

His arguments summed up---> you lost this one game, you suck because of that, and now you're "salty". Hardly a well rationalized analysis. It's a trolls argument. One that doesn't hold water logically, but one that is appealing to typical internet audiences because of its oversimplification.

And I would remind everyone that it was he who took this publicly. For my part I'm working to dispel the copious amounts of BS, admittedly a loosing battle (see Brandolini's Principle)

Yes, someone who goes through the trouble of making forum post has nothing to prove. You just had to post this. Totally. You just can't accept that you prefer to play games with a healthy home field advantage. Nothing wrong with that, but it is irritating when you go one step further and pretend it was an even playing field.

I invite anyone to look back through the various statements he's made. Pretty self evident this is someone who would rather just spout BS rather than make a reasoned argument.

But hey, it works on the internet. 1st line in a troll's playbook.

Your logic is that any games with non-default settings are set so that the host wins.

nice strawman

Nope. This is a strawman (from earlier)

so blockade cards are very specific and unique apparently.

or this gem

If you get me a statistical breakdown of cards in games and it says that more than half of all games neglect adding cards I will cede your point.

If you have a rational counterpoint to the original statement (your game being an unusual setup that tilts the playing field significantly in your favor) I'd love to hear it. I do insist that it goes beyond simplistic arguments such as "you suck" and "you are salty".

the burden of proof lies upon you not me. You have to prove those settings do tilt it in my favor. But you can't because they don't.
