As most users know, Steam Box is a console that allows to play most Steam games. It works the same as an XBOX (CONSOLE not HOME COMPUTER).

GamePop is a service announced for 2016 that allows to play [Android (APK), iPhone/iPad/iOS (ipa)] mobile games on a PC. It is a virtualization software that *comes* with a console & game controller for ~ 200 $. There is also a subscription of 90 $ yearly associated with the *service*.

Will there will be an unique platform in the future ?

(Mobile, Console, PC merged)

---

To my knowledge, I can play XBOX *APPS* on PC with win10.

Thoughts :

With online platforms as Steam / GOG.com, you can usually buy a product and play it MAC/Windows without paying extra. Those platforms give you the right binaries for you. :3

Will game industry *shrink* in the near future ? I assume most people buy 2x AAA games per year. The lifespan of games increased. Minecraft and Skyrim Mods are an example of that. Games have more content (mods, dlcs, expansions) and are harder/longer to *beat*. Eventually, AAA games will come out less often to optimize the sales. I spend most of my gaming time on browsers games and old games. On a big note, I will never own GTAV. QUAKE LIVE best FPS.

Edit : Android-only console is *very* limiting if it is indeed the case. :(
---

iOS is closed technology so no emulator available except this.
Windows Phone emulator may become a thing.

This *thing* is a console. You get ~ 200 random games included with it.

---

Edit :

129 $ for console
Subscription = Unlimited *free* access.

---

Microconsoles (or mobile consoles) were already on the market in 2010.

Ouya is kinda reasonable (Its only ~$100 bucks and you can buy older games that have been remade for Android for it for very cheap).

But I don't get why someone would buy it still, if it's that old, just pirate it on PC... not like the game that old is gonna be *that* good.
