Do you even know what creationism is?

This link was not for creationism, but for students thinking earthquakes are brought about by sinfulness.

every creationist I've ever met does not think hurricanes are due to anger anymore

You live in America, which is pretty well-off in the international scale. But there are conserves elsewhere, in poorer sites. About 3/4 Muslims are conservative and 1/3 wants Islamic theologic law for everyone/for Muslims (but to kill converting Muslims). That's way too high.

It's going to be hilarious when the Socialists are the center-left and the Democrats end up actually supporting worker control of the means of production.

Interesting idea, I would join but I'm not American. Its curious, even though we have a lot of young people debating, we have a fair share of conservatives on this site.

Жұқтыру, Teamguns and Angry koala are the only liberals I've actually 'argued' with, and the latter 2 are known imbeciles, in that order. Eklipse is one of the best ddbaters around, Darth Darth is decent as well, Genghis I don't often see in action. I think it would be a walkover at this rate.

If you start a libertarian party with GeneralPE at the helm, and Жұқтыру representing the democrat party or something with similar values, I think that could go to an interesting 3 way head-off. Of course there are possibly other good players with good arguments.

What definition of socialism is the socialist?

Supporting the policies of Bernie Sanders, Jeremy Corbyn, and typical far left semi-libertarian policies.

Typically for:

- Government funded
  • Health care
  • Education
  • Universities / college

- Major industries controlled by the workers, such as steel, oil, transport, and these industries are nationalised.
- Raising taxes for the 1% and companies
- Lowering taxes for the poor and middle class
- People receiving benefits / welfare (how and when obviously defined by individual candidates)
- A more accepting society (e.g. closing the gender pay gap, defending equal rights, etc.)
- Pro-choice policies
- Taking in more refugees

Typically against:

- Intervention in foreign wars unless it's a necessity
- Torture
- More immigration control

I got a bit specific and pretty much any of that can be altered but they are typical socialist stances, based off of modern social-democrat candidates in the UK and USA (Corbyn and Bernie)

Not all those points are typical socialist stances, those are left wing stances that just so happen to be embraced by semi-'socialists' like Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn.

Now that the libertarian party officially has over 3 members and is allowed to operate, I think that we need to write a platform. If you are a libertarian throw in your suggestions. Here are mine:

1. Ending Government involvement in marriage

2. Ending abortion

3. Providing a modest tax cut for everyone by getting rid of unnecessary/liberty impeding government programs like:

a. Department of education (there is no need for federal involvement in schools, it should be left to local and state governments)
b. Environmental protection agency (People/businesses should have the right to harm the environment)
c. Federal Communications commission (Exists only for impeding liberty by literally dictating what can and can't be said publicly)
d. Food and drug administration (Exists only to disrupt the free market)
e. All welfare programs (exists to disrupt the free market)

4. End ALL government prohibitions on drugs

Let's leave abortion to the states. Also, I have a fifth point.

5. End the war on terror, withdraw all troops from the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania.
5a. Cut Military spending by 90%
5b. Shut down the NSA

A strong military is necessary for protecting the citizens, but to be honest 10% of our current spending would likely still be considered "strong".

I maintain that every child has a right to live, and an abortion is the ultimate abridgement of that right. If a majority of the party members are in favor of removing it from our platform I will, but for now it stays in.

Darn it, join the Free Group, we need two more members.

Foreign/criminal policy:
*Cut military spending by 100%, it doesn't need funding for a few years, since it's been overfunded so much for such a long time. Cut all military branches except Shore Watch and Air Defence.
*No torture, at all, in any circumstance. It's relatively ineffective and it's antigeneven.
*Get out of all wars that America is in.
*Put sanctions on all countries in the Middle East, all them are doing terrible things.

Immigration policy:
*Open borders, disband the Border Patrol, anyone is free to come in from Mexico or Cuba. No such thing as an "illegal immigrant", end all work visas - anyone can work.
*In votes, everyone can vote. Noncitizens can vote, noncitizens from other countries can vote. A president should be best for 7,200,000,000 folk, not 5% that.
*Immigrants do not have to learn English, but take out non-English translations on government stuff.
*Make citizenship mostly honourary.

Social policy:
*For-life.
*For gay civil unions, but let the faith's clergy handle whether to make a gay marriage legal. Also, let the faith's clergy ban anyone they want from marrying in their clergy, whether it be atheists, heterosexes, or Chinese. The government should not trample on institutions of faith, but apatheist civil unions will work as a marriage in every way legally.
*For letting any business deny customer/not hire based on any criterion they want. The government shouldn't interfere in private business.

Environmental policy:
*If a national park is making profit, keep it as is. If it's not, allow more public access. If it's still not making profit, then allow mining/logging. If it's still not making profit, then disband the park and sell the land.
*GMOs legally must be labelled if selling them.
*Clean renewable energy is the answer to energy independence, not more petrol digging. Incentivise clean energy.

Economic policy:
*Totally rid welfare.
*How much a business pays its workers, and any disparity there is not business of the government (rid minimum wage). Businesses should never be mandated to do something from the government.
*Cut some public spending to lower national debt.

Home policy:
*Require checks for buying a gun. Do not sell to loons or former violent crimers.
*Set time limits for American Congress members.
*Allow suing anybody for any grounds you want.

Healthcare policy:
*Install a big healthcare system, so that noone has to pay for basic health services anymore (but for more advanced ones that aren't life-threatening/you want premium care, pay up. This is how it works in Belarus, great system).
*Mandate vaccinations for contagious or deadly illnesses, and make other vaccinations free, but by choice.
*Legalise all drugs, free everyone in gaol for drug offences.

Electoral policy:
*End gerrymandering.
*Mandate photographic identification to vote.

Scientific policy:
*Mandate evolution being taught in all schools.
*Greatly lower the spending on the space programme until debt is way lower.

Libertarian Values & Beliefs (imo):

Nobody should have to pay for basic healthcare, (check-ups, basic testing and basic medicine), but if you want chemotherapy or something, you are paying up. Maybe use the single-payer system Bernie Sanders is talking about.

NASA is going to die, privatize space exploration.

Eliminate minimum wage.

Sanction any country that practices torture and doesn't allow free speech (China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt), we shouldn't be allies with any non-free nation.

Cut Military budget, the last war fought on the Continental US was the Civil War.

Limit Congressional Terms

Heavily promote scientific advancement most categories (particularly energy & medicine)

Sanction development against self-replicating code (AIs could end humanity)

This is very much not libertarian. Libertarians hate public spending.
