Title says it all. What are some settings you like to use that you won't find on a ladder or "strategic" template?

A few of mine:
- airlift cards (still don't see how anyone can prefer playing without them)

- neutral armies at 1 or 0 (mostly for aesthetics cause I don't like having leftover troops after attacks)

- games with 10+ players (warlight is most fun when you have good banter with your friends)

Happy Thursday and Poon on!

For me, it's kill rates at 0,35 for offense and 0,85 for defense. It favors defense over offense so much in a beautiful way. You only need minimal troops to hold a territory (ex. 10 units kill 4) meaning you can expand at a moderate rate at the same time.

Would you consider Heavy Earth a non-standard template? How about Fast MME? If not, then those are probably my favorites.

I guess limited full deployment is also still "non-standard" given its relatively low adoption rate.

I'm not that much of an out-of-the-box person when it comes to strat gaming, although the .35/.85 kill rate combo seems like a great idea.

The Continent - Colonial War map with multiattack and local deployments, 100% luck and WR, as well as 1000% abandon, airlift, 1 bomb per turn and 0 starting income, but with Commanders.

Oh yeah, on two minutes boot timer or it takes too long.

All great styles! The varied ill rates sound interesting. I'm still trying to get the hang of multi attack and commanders myself. Commanders are kinda hard to learn when you're not a member tho.

Wasteland style seems frustrating as hell haha.

knyte, what are those templates? I'm not good with template names.

Billy, what map and settings are you talking about? Also unrelated, of all the tv characters to pick for your Warlight persona, why Billy Walsh? You a big Queens Boulevard fan?

+1 Zero, I really enjoyed that template every time I've played it.

Although.. my favorite non-standard setting is army cap, and my favorite template is:
