Just opening up a place for people to discuss/share tips for Local Deployment, now that a season has been mostly played and several people are at Level 49.

Please contribute, and share any game links of settings with local deployment that you enjoyed.

Some of my Questions and Observations:

-If Armies/Territory is turned on, does that add to the base income that can be deployed anywhere?

-Has Anyone played with Multi-Attack turned on?

-What card settings make Local Deployment fun?

-Here is a setting that I enjoyed, though I don't think this would be much fun on a map with more territories.
1600 AD Europe Map (Sans Kingdom bonuses, obviously) and did 2 manual starts, +3 Reinf Card each turn, 1/7 of Airlift Card Each Turn.
See Gamelink: http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=5029081

The 1/7 airlift was about right. Perhaps I could have added some Order Priorities/Delays like the current season since transfers are critical in this game.

One thing I noticed was it got a bit tedious when controlling 15+ bonuses, trying to find which ones need to be deployed and don't.

I like to add my "Anywhere" armies first, then round out all of my small bonuses... Making sure I got all my deploys first before executing any transfer/attacks.

Perhaps there could be a total deployed tracker... or make the bonuses that still need deployments stand out, either in order of list, or bold etc.

Please share anything else about Local Deployment here:

I also question how sanction cards affect LD, or army cap..
I just came back, else I would test it myself and put it on my test accounts page :S

Particularly interested in how it would work with bonus armies per territory. That greatly affects a custom scenario I have.

Also good questions about sanctions and army cap.

for the record

sanction cards reduce all income by what ever the sanction card is. so for a 50% sanction on med earth...

anywhere goes from 5-3
East US Goes from 5-3
west africa goes from 4-2
Antartica goes from 3-1

you will notice that 5 rounds up but a 3 bonus rounds down.....i have no idea why this is

the extra armies per territory you gain goes on your "anywhere" allocation

hope that helps

your total income us 17, half of it is 8.5=9
antarctica was used to get to the 9, probably its chosen randomly or by alphabetical order

hmmm to test out what you said i made a custom single player where i had the following income only using 3 bonuses

anywhere 5
N Africa 3
Indon 3
S Africa 3
Scan 3
C America 3

total income 20

i sanctioned myself and the following happened

anywhere 5 - 4
N Africa 3 - 1
Indon 3 - 1
S Africa 3 - 2
Scan 3 -1
C America 3 - 1

new income 10

yes it did half my income but very strange the way it did it. i would have expected to see 2 or 3 in anywhere but definitely not a 4

i wonder how it calculates this

Perhaps it tries the hardest to reduce the territories to the nearest army to get to 50%.... and then uses the Anywhere's to make it overall 50%?

if that were true then all the 3s would be 1s and then anywhere would be 5

why are some 3s 1 and some 2s? ( well only one is 2)

Based on some tests, here's what I've found out.

Sort all bonuses in alphabetical order. Put the "anywhere" at the end. So, for General Mac's scenario, the order is...

C America 3
Indon 3
N Africa 3
Scan 3
S Africa 3
anywhere 5

Subtract one from all bonuses, going from top to bottom.

C America 3 - 1 = 2
Indon 3 - 1 = 2
N Africa 3 - 1 = 2
Scan 3 - 1 = 2
S Africa 3 - 1 = 2
anywhere 5 - 1 = 4

Total: 14/10 <- 4 too high.

Subtract again.

C America 2 - 1 = 1 (13/10)
Indon 2 - 1 = 1 (12/10)
N Africa 2 - 1 = 1 (11/10)
Scan 2 - 1 = 1 (10/10 - Stop here)
S Africa 2
anywhere 4

If a bonus already has less than or equal the sanction percentage, then it will be skipped when subtracting.
For example, consider this scenario:

C. America [3]
Korea [1]
Japan [2]
N. Africa [3]
Scan [3]
S. Africa [3]
Anywhere [5]
Total - 20/20

If a 50% sanction card is used, then subtract 1 from each bonus.

C. America [2]
Korea [0]
Japan [1]
N. Africa [2]
Scan [2]
S. Africa [2]
Anywhere [4]
Total - 13/10

Subtract again, because we haven't reached 10/10

C. America [1] (12/10)
Korea [0] <- Skip because 0/1 is less than 50%
Japan [1] <- Skip because 1/2 is equal to 50%
N. Africa [1] (11/10)
Scan [1] (10/10)
S. Africa [2]
Anywhere [4]
Total - 10/10

To summarize...
1) Sort all bonuses in alphabetical order. Put "Anywhere" at the end.
2) Subtract 1 from each bonus in order until you reach the required total amount by the sanction. If necessary, start over from the top.
2a) Skip all bonuses that have a ratio that is less than or equal to (1 - Sanction Percentage)

Blockades seem like they'd be a nightmare with multi-attack. I hate multi-attack in general, but interesting game.

Nice work Tsumiki! At least it now makes sense haha

I'm halfway through a MA LD game and I think the games could be really good. The local deployment dulls down the multiattack slightly which is good because you can't just deploy all in one territory and attack. Also attacking deep into your opponants land is risky because if you don't get a bonus on the way it's hard to maintain the attack.

I think it has great potential

The best multi-attack games are the ones I am not in :)

They are horrible on mobile devices, which is where I take a good amount of turns.
