I told Fizzer how I made my picks. He Judged that it is legal so I am not a cheater. Every button I clicked and every hotkey I pressed are in the game. Please stop smearing my name with cheating. I hate cheating too.

50 picks in less than a second with Roma of course as your top pick when Roma alone was winning the game for you? And don't tell it is autopilot as autopilot can't pick consistently the best pick like that in games like that one.

Congratulations Bugs Bunny! You are the first to mention autopilot on my issue. I appreciate your smartness while I hate your disclosure of my secret weapon which took me months to discover. However since you guys pushed me into a corner, I cannot hide it anymore but to declare that yes I used the autopilot.

The autopilot has an algorithm of first picking the bonus with the best value/territory ratio. Everybody can do experiments and see if an autopilot is able to catch Rome on that template. You can also do experiments on small earth to see if the autopilot knows when to 1st-pick south america or Australia in most situations.

So, the remaining issue is, whether it is ethical to use an autopilot, considered that only members can do it. My thought is that it's OK if your opponent is also a member. I am gonna stop using it against non-members in any coin games, ladders and tournament games from now on.

In your experiments, choose "prod 2.0", the one without "randomness", so that the autopilot can consistently 1st-pick something like Rome in that template.

And Group B is complete! :) Tight group with lots of tiebreakers - in the end, 7 of 9 players finished .500 or better!

1 game remaining in Group I, and if it goes a certain way, we'll have a 5 way tie for 4th with 6-4 records, which only matters because the last place finisher of those 5 is promoted to a lower group than the others.

^ I'm a little concerned about how it might affect this p/r league. Clearly you've found a loophole to exploit; while perhaps not technically illegal, I think a lot of people will find this an unfair advantage for members.

Me too Bonsai. I'm curious what huddyj's opinion on this is and if he would ban it from the league. Might be hard to ban if it isn't a setting option though.

Personally, I've never used auto pilot. In most games on small earth, getting first pick doesn't give you any obvious advantage, however, there are definitely some scenarios where a significant advantage goes to the player with first pick. But this also goes the other way, with the double-pick of Europe often being a better option than a first pick in Aus or SA.

However, due to this league being completely about a players skill level, and definitely not about using automation of any form, I strongly urge league members not to take advantage of any auto pilot or other means of AI to give them an advantage. (I think it would be interesting to have one of the autobots playing in the league, just to see what kind of advantage there is from using auto pilot)

Why not change it to Cyclic Move Order from NLC? This would at least completely eliminate the Autopilot advantage. Of course this gives some changes, but at least ther is no loopholes.

I think this is a good idea to avoid people exploiting autopilot, so I support this proposal.
It also prevents intentionally going for slowest picks though (not sure how I feel about that - making a play for slow picks as a strategy is kinda nice, but if both players goes for that it will just be whoever can wait the most without booting)

i do that tactic and that is a good thing to have when you play live games because there it is a skill test. in live games you have to quickly see if the situation is such that you REALLY want to pick second. deciding quickly means you understand the board well. if you commit you might not have the time to change your mind. here you just pick the fastest possible and then you can think about the board (if opp has not commited cause you´re the first to see the board). if you notice it´s a second pick board you have time to change your mind. that´s a bit unfair but such is life :)
