I think it's safe to say that Obama is probably the most progressive president since LBJ or FDR. but how did he do? His administration is basically over. Let's just poll it, Shall we?

yeah, 50 - 50 worked. He made some bad choices but did what he could. Better than Romney imo.

EDIT: And better than Hillary.

That's what I vote, but you literally have no bad pick here.

And frankly, not sure he'd do better than Clinton - any assumptions are very speculative.

He was meh. His administration as a whole was pure shite. He did a few good things. Made a few " Oh god why?" mistakes.

Economics - Eh. This is where he did best, I think. It's still not the best, but it's aight.

Foreign affairs - Oh Jesus no. But he had a lot of help from the previous administration, so one cannot hold him entirely accountable at all for this. His pullout game was strong when we finished f*cking Iraq, which is actually a bad thing. USA's illegitimate child, ISIS, is flailing around.

Domestic Social - Eh. The only thing I can complain about is his readiness to call "racism" without waiting for any evidence (kind of defeats the purpose of "innocent until proven guilty") and the latest discussion on transgender bathrooms. These two really piss me off, personally. His stance on racism actually drove a deeper wedge between Black and White/Police.

I think the best president we have had since FDR, but I'm probably biased.
Since FDR(including him) I go:
1. FDR
2. Obama
3. LBJ(despite Vietnam)
4. JFK(despite the short term)
5. Truman(despite dropping the nukes)
6. Clinton
7. Eisenhower
8. Carter
9. Reagan
10. Nixon
11. Ford
12. Bush 41
13. Bush 43

Nixon was one of my most liked American presidents, he is very underrated, just from one scand. Yeah, he wasn't unblemished, and all he did was out of pragmatism, but:

*He ended the Vietnam war!
*He ended the military draft!
*He opened diplomatic relations with the CFR.
*He founded the first governmental environmental regulations.
*SALT talks.

How the hell is he not the most popular president ever? Revisionism, and news at sensation, by militarists like Raegan and beyond.

And meantime, Truman is 4th on your list? The man who started the Vietnamese war, Korean war (not just the American intervention in it - he played a *very* big role in the background to it.), dropped the atomic bomb on Japan, suppressed socialism at it's peak in America and through fearmongering began the Cold War? Get outta here.

DDB and Smedley share my thought here pretty much, however, he'd be much better than the other picks.

And seriously, put a choice that he was an awful president in your poll, it's really biased.

Oh, that's ugly, didn't know that, thanks.

And also, he was the mad hatter who began talks that started to disband anti-ballistic missilic shield systems in America and Russia, so that the "stopping factor" of the atomic bomb, that it would keep war from happening, even though this just makes the wars bloodier, historically.

Let's see about those statements xbty
*He ended the Vietnam war!-he did after promising to end it on his first presidential election, and didn't do it until after his reelection, kind of extended it unnecessarily to "keep american face"
*He ended the military draft!-didn't, he did what was usually done during peace time, which is the end of the use of the draft for putting people in the military. 18 year olds in the US still have to register for the draft.
He opened diplomatic relations with the CFR.-valid point, but it could be argued that he was just taking advantage of the fact that the world was shifting to a non-bipolar world, and was just trying to get ahead in terms of allies in preparations for warfare as powers realized their diminished power, which generally leads to war in an attempt to gain enough resources to return glory.
*He founded the first governmental environmental regulations. -valid point, but they definitely could have been much better written, and given more power to the EPA.
*SALT talks.-yeah, he happened to be the first president during the time period in which the bipolar world began to become non-bipolar.

well, I done goofed, I placed Nixon incorrectly. He should be above reagan and carter.
Anyways, the scandal to me is a huge dock, and he also told the North vietnamese to not surrender as revealed by the LBJ tapes. https://consortiumnews.com/2014/09/08/fleshing-out-nixons-vietnam-treason/

As for truman, yeah he was an idiot in terms of foreign diplomacy, but something you should know, that is the category I least care about, as otherwise obviously LBJ would be further down, as well as JFK, and Obama. And in reverse, Reagan, Clinton, and Nixon would obviously move up the ranks, as well as probably Bush 41. His supression of socialism does get him docked, but pretty much every president while the Cold war was active did that, so if I used that as a heavily weighted criterion, it would like I have a massive recency bias.

Also, 5-7 basically can go in any order for me, I just organize them depending on how I feel.(truman, Clinton, Eisenhower)
