It. sucked. so. badly.

Literally, they just ruined a lot.

Like.... the Children of the Forest created the white walkers?

Hodor is actually short for "hold the door" (No joke, if you watch Season 6 Episode 5, thats what Hodor actually means).

Bloodraven is killed....

Bran getting touched in a vision by the Nights King means the Nights King can get past the force field protecting them....

All the remaining CotF die....

We don't see Jaime/Cersei at all... (and by now, they are sadly the most interesting storyline).

And WTF WHAT THE HELL WAS THE KINGSMOOT???

THEY ELECTED EURON KING.... AND THEN THEON AND YARA STOLE THE WHOLE F***ING FLEET!!! ALL OF IT!!! HUNDREDS OF SHIPS!!!

How the hell is Euron suppose to be a fucking badass with only 30 men and NO SHIPS!!!???!!!

AND WORST OF ALL: SUMMER DIES!!! MEANING THE ONLY LIVING DIREWOLVES ARE NYMERIA AND GHOST!!!

oh wow.

That, that was bad. Great way to destroy the mystery of the white walkers. I would've preferred no answer until much, much later. And a cooler origin story than that.

In the books, the Kingsmoot was awesome. They all had these awesome speeches, there were hecklers, and I was invested in Victarion's revenge quest. Now... ew.

Was Arya there? Jon? Tyrion? Daenerys?

Jon appeared for around 30 seconds. He left winterfeel with Sansa, Melis, Davos, to go get the Manderlys help.

Arya... Arya was the highlight of the episode.

Tyrion talked with a Red Preistess.

We saw Dany finally forgive Jorah and accept him back, but now he has to stay outside the camp cause of Greyscale.

Oh, and yeah. Dany leads all the dothraki now, no resistance it seems -_-

Greyjoy storyline was still better than the clusterfuck that was Dorne.

Yes. Yes it was.

Greyjoy storyline in show is still pretty stupid though.

i liked it

sad to see hodor go like that, totally abused by bran in the past and present, poor hodor.

the reed girl killed one of the white-walker commanders though, that was nice, dont know how the hell they'll be able to escape though, they're in the middle of white walker land and have no guides anywhere

and yeah, the kingsmoot on the books was better, but well...

also cool to see the story get all distorted on the play and arya questioning herself. wonder if she'll just get the skills and then leave the many faced god.

was hoping peter baylish would have died :(

well a major spoil, since we basically know the main origin of the WW, the next book A Wind of Winter was basically going to be mainly focused on this but well... so I am starting to wonder will it be necessary to buy next GRRM's book now... I would have preferred to keep it secret until the very end of the show. There is no real suspens about it now.
I also disliked the way WW's origin was showed, for a major information we saw really few of it.

And the Children of the Forest... Tsssh, frankly they died all stupidly, total nonsense when you know in the books their real power and importance.
Bloodraven, is in the book an important character, actually the oldest living man on earth (if we do not count Melissandre well...), and as a Targaryen (do not recall if the show revealed it), he knows many thing people didn't, some things are revealed in the book about him, but again nothing in the show.
Where is Victarion Greyjoy?
Euron Greyjoy's actor... Frankly a bad casting.

Now the good points:
Sansa/Jon storyline, is very interesting. Can't wait to see Ramsay finally destroyed, with all the North rallying again the Starks (I hope). This is certainly going to happen in the usual episode 9 climax.
Tyrion/Varys's is also good.

To conclude:
This could have been done better, but well lets see what happens next, we will certainly have more important relevations soon.

@Angry Koala

Regarding the white walkers which I agree in the long run is the most interesting reveal, I don't think the children actually created the White Walkers. I think it's one of the changes the show has made from the books. Their origin in the books is likely to be different given the history we've learned so far. It just doesn't seem plausible at all... so you shouldn't let that reveal put you off of reading winds of winter.

I just caught up, and can finally open GoT threads!

I think it's dumb they brought back Jon Snow from the dead. I mean, I'm glad he's alive, but now the show has established a precedent that people can come back from the dead. Therefore, whenever someone dies, we don't know if they're really dead or not. It's a sci-fi cliche.

Speaking of, it seems the show is bringing back other old cliches. Like when someone defeats one of our heroes in battle, but instead of finishing them off they stand there gloating for a few seconds, and right before taking the final thrust they get killed by an off-screen guy. Part of the reason I liked GoT before was they avoided the old cliches.

Still enjoying it though.

GOT already established the precedent of resurrection with beric dondarrion being revived 7 times

in the books caitlin stark gets revived and so does beric

jon snow being resurrected is critical as he is both ice and fire (R + L = J) and is azor azhai

@e_e we don't know that, as likely as it is there are arguments for almost any character to be Azor Ahai, that's also assuming that prophecy isn't just bullshit.

@ Angry Koala The books and the show have taken different paths from this season onward (excluding the Greyjoy story line which hasn't caught up yet).

A couple things i don't like is how show Tyrion seems to be a bit stupid, he of all people should know that mixing state with religion NEVER works, he had a peace sorted and he doesn't need to involve a red priestess. The show runners no longer have a script laid out for them (due to separation from the books) and it really just seems like they are making things up as they go. I also hope they aren't expecting us to ignore the time paradox of Bran going back to mess up Hodor.
