Was the man a political and philosophical genius, or a lying scumbag who justified being a lying scumbag?

no. I meant whether you thought his ideas were intelligent ways of being a leader or justification for being cruel to one's subjects.

Lol tchaicucksky. He supported republics, read his discourses on livy. Have you only read the wiki article on the prince or something? You're so stupid and you shouldn't discuss things of which you know nothing you just make yourself look stupid. I don't want to do your book report for you but Machiavelli wrote the prince because he believed that order was important than liberty although he preferred the style of governance under the Roman republic. Read more than just wiki articles and remake this thread in 3 weeks.

Trolls gonna troll.

As for Machiavelli, I have read some quotes from him in Medieval 2 TW, so I guess he was a smart person.

I recommend some Kung Chiu. I think this is a bit Eurocentric.

I only read *The Prince* by Machiavelli. I remember, that Ive been very excited to read it, but I was extremely disappointed afterwards. I havent took any valueable information from this book, it was only a extremely boring historical summary of the political situation in italy, with very trivial conclusions.
I have no clue why this book is still recommended. I would rather suggest: vom Kriege (on war) by Clausewitz, Clash of civilizations by Samuel Huntington, The social contract by Jean-Jaques Rousseau or Mass Psychology by Gustaf Le Bon.

yeah rousseau really seems to be something like an early *communist*, within his writings, well like many others before him.. especially the buddhistic, stoic and epicurean philosophers.

so better read Marc Aurel, Epiktet or even Master Takuan. =)

No Erasmus? Come on, he was universally anti-war in the 1500s.

“Since we see that there is hardly ever any respite from wars, which normally arise from the ambition or anger of princes and thus are usually fought for the worst reasons, in my writings I frequently frighten people away from warfare, and in doing so I follow the example of the ancient Doctors of the church.” ~ Erasmus

Can you write a book? "Thoughts of the commie", I would be very interested to see what these inferior humans think, with what little brains they have.

The alphabet of thought is precursor to reductionist in mathematics.

Logicians are mostly reductionist.

His theory of fundamental language found way in anthropology. Most languages are considered INDO-European.

Alphabet of thought is a little similar to NPL if it was to be implanted.
