It would speed up clan league, but i doubt people would enjoy getting booted on cl games despite beeing on vacation.

i'm positive many players will not know about the rule or just forget about it immediately.

Despite the fact that i would like to speed up the clan league i think we should not forget that its just a game. Real life should always come first. If you really want to speed up the clan league i would go to a 2 day boot on the tourneys with 1 or 2 days banked boot time on the teamgames for discussion on picks. (not that i would like boottime shorter then 3 days myself :P)

I agree with master of desaster's concern.

That said, it does seem to me that the new rule can be broadcasted loudly and repeatedly, along with a strong recommendation that players factor this in in deciding whether to play in clan league and for clan managers to monitor this. You could even have periodic reminders on the clan league division threads.

Point is - I doubt this is the limiting factor. Although of course this would raise the further issue of who would be willing to take on this responsibility.

To solve this problem I would increace the game count of team games.

For example:

3v3 = 5 simultaneous games
2v2 = 4 simultaneous games
1v1 = fine with as far as I can see

Vacation ban is a bad idea in my opnion. As Ollie said:

its just a game. Real life should always come first.

Awful idea. Nobody wants to make pick on 5 3vs3 games at once. Also a player can get booted in all of them at once easily and that clan is screwed

I think it's fine how it is. Since cl is only once or twice a year it makes it more competitive.

Though if you're looking for changes then pick a reliable scorekeeper at the start of the season. Master turtle gave up with updates last season in div B and shouldn't of been picked again.

So, using a winrate*(points left to play) system, we can make projections of the gap between each clan in the season and at how much points they should end if they keep their winrate the same.



Based on the gaps we can see, the fight for first and fourth is still very competitive. Turtles, Apex and WG endings are pretty safe to assume.

So many calculations to get the same result as you had at the beggining.


You're totally right. But I think that the most important thing in that table I posted was the input of a more visual point gap between clans. Winrate percentages are often hard to visualize as "virtual" difference between clans. As the maths for itself it took me litteraly 5 minutes to make those calculations in excel, so I wouldn't consider them as "many" :p

I just made an assumption using the probable scenario I could see with the table. It pleases me that apex managed to beat the odds and is now neck to neck with GG. It's way more entertaining to watch a fight to avoid relegation instead of a dispute for 4th, although I'm pretty sure GG disagrees with me haha

Final Earth: Lynx
Turtles spoil Lynx's perfect tourney win here, but they still end up a tidy 5-1. Apex wins 2 more games against French and WG to improve to 4-1. The lone remaining game is Apex vs Masters, which is essentially for 2nd place in the group. If apex wins they move to 5-1 and lose the tiebreaker to Lynx finishing second. Masters would then fall into a 3-way tie for 3rd with WG and Turtles. If Masters win, both Apex and Masters will be 4-2 with Masters owning the tiebreaker.

China
Turtles beat GG to finish 5-1, with GG 4-2. Masters and Lynx are playing the only remaining game which will decide who wins the tournament. If Masters win they will win the tournament, but if Lynx wins Turtles do, due to a head-to-head victory.

Strat ME SR: French
French beat Masters to win this tournament with a 5-1 record. Masters also lost to GG to fall to 4-2 and second place.

EU SR: Masters
A lot has happened here. Masters has won 3 games including the big one against Lynx, clinching the tournament victory and forcing Lynx to settle for second after their scorching start. At the bottom of the group GG, WG, and Turtles continue their struggles and Apex picks up a pair of wins.

Great Lakes: Apex
Apex finishes this tournament strong with 4 victories to clinch the tournament win. Turtles also win 1 game with one last game remaining versus the 1 loss Lynx team. Masters, Lynx, Turtles, and French are all sitting with 1 or 2 losses, but 2nd place is guaranteed to be the winner of the Lynx-Turtles clash.

Summary


There is a very exciting fight for 1st place happening here between Lynx and Masters (Turtles hasn't been eliminated from the running, but with only 4 more max points than Lynx's current points it would be difficult to achieve). Lynx still sits with a healthy 17 points advantage over Masters, but Masters still holds a higher ceiling. This wasn't a good update for Lynx though as they see their win-rate lead crumble to a mere 0.5%. They still hold a 5 point lead in Predicted Points, but it looks like it could go down to the wire and Masters would win in the event of a tie due to being assured to having more tournament victories.

French is now locked in at 4th place, so they won't contend for a podium place but are significantly above the relegation fight.

At the bottom WG continues their season from hell as they only manage to notch 1 victory in this update.

As for the other relegation spot, it had looked like Apex was done and dusted, but after a spate of losses from GG and a very strong closing kick in Final Earth, Europe, and Great Lakes they have overtaken GG. They now sit 1 point below GG's max points, so any win by Apex or loss by GG will seal it.
