Alright,it seems that everything is black because the sea is actually the backhround, which warlight turns into black. That still doesn't explain whay nothing else appears though.
I am only a beginner mapmaker (only 1 so far), but did I get it right that you tried to upload the SVG from Wikipedia? If yes, I suggest you reading through this: https://www.warlight.net/wiki/Map_Making
I just started making this map,so it will take some time until I make it public for testing, but I intend on making it pretty detailed and with a bunch of things scenario makers can take advantage of.
It will also contain Sicily and maybe Cyprus.
The idea is that there is a big team battle going on at the start(the Peloponnesian war),while there are neutral nations that can do whatever they want.
I am open to suggestions regarding the mechanics of the map, such as representing oligarchs vs democrats
What I ended up doing is filling the sea, copying it onto another file, and subsequently copying all the other parts into it.I am not very familiar with the trace bitmap thing
I also want to have separate entities so that making the territories is easier
Using 'trace bitmap' is really simple. Select the image you have imported, go into the path menu and click 'trace bitmap', then tick 'colours' near the bottom of the window that pops up, then make sure the number of scans is either 7 or 8, then click ok.
I would generally like to keep it focused on the Peloponnesian war,the best reason that I can see to include the Persian Empire is for the wars on Cyprus between Atenians and the Pesian Empire,so I guess I could include some territories.
Well,it seems that,as of now, this map is way too detailed to fir the size limit, and I am sad to see that, because I wanted it to be detailed...Guess I'll have to make some changes, especially if I want to put sicily in :(
apollo, as soon as youve uploaded a map on warlight you can share a link. it doesnt need to be public. on the bottom of the left frame is a button which says: link for sharing. just try it - it is very much self explaining. with that link it will be much easier to help you out on any issue within this thread. =)
