I get that a lot of police brutality cases are blown up even though the cops were potentially in the right. But this one is ridiculous.

One day, there'll be news articles on every white guy that gets shot every day...

No no, how silly of me. If they're not black, who really cares, eh? There would be no story, no reason to start whining racism...

Race is not an issue here, police brutality is. There is no good justification for their actions.

^I agree. We must all stand together. Race is irrelevant while behavior is relevant.
There are no shortage of white and native American guys shot by the police either. Police brutality is the problem, not race nor the existence of the police which is necessary.

Of course, if they had sensible gun laws, there wouldn't be a need to shoot people who are carrying guns, because the average person wouldn't be owning one.

No, it is about race.

If you're not black, you don't matter near as much . That is a fact. If you don't accept that, then you're ignorant of the fact that although there are more police brutality cases against white or hispanic people, the vast majority of those reported on are against black people.

@Tristan it is still not certain as to whether or not the victim even had a gun. He likely had one in his pocket or something, but it hasn't even been confirmed yet (unless I missed something?)

Epicular, when I read about it yesterday the article had a witness quoted as saying a gun was pulled from his pocket. Haven't looked further into the matter to see how widely reported that was. Either way, his hands were reportedly nowhere near the gun.

The same article stated that no license is required in Louisiana to own or open-carry a gun. A permit is required for concealed carry, as was the case here, so he was breaking the law.

Maybe if the police weren't paramilitary forces given free range to operate as they wish, we wouldn't have police be more lethal than terrorists.

Oh no wait, we have to bring up race to get the public off subject when there's a atrocity! Wait, they're not buying it. Umm, it's because the public won't give up their rights, yeah, that'll get them off it!

Stop being a damn state shill.

Yeah both of them are trying to derail this into a shit show about race, like how the liberal media does with all the shootings, to keep folk divided on the subject and too weak to actually confront the problems presented here.

Bullshit. It would make the local news for a few days until the court case comes around, and it might get national headlines for a single day. No continuous coverage, no outcries from organizations, no protests.

There are not nearly as many cases of brutality against whites. Like Sharpe said, the unjustified ones make the news all the same.
The cases that make the national news for more than one day are the ones that will rake in the views AKA not cases with White victims.
There are more White people killed by cops, how is that not more brutal?

I agree with you all that brutality in general is the issue, but the fact of the matter is, that media and society doesn't give a shit about bad cop cases unless the victim is a minority. Hell, YouTube is a better source for viewing true brutality/actual racist cops than any news media.

Yeah both of them are trying to derail this into a shit show about race, like how the liberal media does with all the shootings,
I think they were saying those things in response to the nation's response (which is shouting "RACISM"). A quote from Michael McClanahan of the NAACP: "What we're going to do is root out the 1% of bad police officers that go around being the judge, the jury and executioner of innocent people, period, but more specifically, innocent black lives." No need to make it more specific when race isn't the issue. But that's what this country does.

it is still not certain as to whether or not the victim even had a gun. He likely had one in his pocket or something, but it hasn't even been confirmed yet (unless I missed something?)
Yeah, the dude had a gun. So far, it doesn't seem he was reaching out for it.

False. In one instance his hands were bound and nowhere near the gun. In the other, he was reaching for his wallet and doing the responsible thing in telling the police that he had a gun and permit.

Indefensible in both cases. There was no threat to either officers life.

CD Man's hand was near his gun. However, that was so because of him being bound. Interestingly, CD Man was a felon and wasn't even allowed to carry his firearm openly, let alone concealed. Doesn't change the fact that the cops done f*cked up, though.

The man was reaching for his wallet which happened to be where his gun was. He did the right thing until he didn't listen to the cop to stop reaching. One could argue that the cop had no proof that the man was grabbing his wallet, and not his gun. Doesn't change the fact that the cop done f*cked up, though.

If the second guy was reaching for his gun why would he tell the officer he had a gun? Not exactly the action of one intending to use said gun!

I typically give police the benefit of the doubt. Brutal and dangerous job which is easy to question in hindsight. I can't defend either of these. Police failures.

No, I can't defend either of these cases, either. I was just pointing out that while police brutality is an issue, cooperation with police is lacking in most cases that we hear about. I'm not defending brutal police when I say this, but sucking up pride and cooperating might not kill some people.

Two burly policemen tasered a guy and havent been able to disarm the suspect or put on hand cuffs. Instead, they presumably panic and shot the victim 6 times. great job! America's policemen must be world's finest. not to mention that they tried to cover their failure with a blatant lie to come away with homicide, which seems to be an approved way to deal with those situations. I really hope that they dont get away with that, but I have no doubt they most likely will.
