Fizzer,

I would like the ability to make team games where one or more players on the team is a spectator, for practice games only. Something that would allow a great 1v1 player like Tbest to be on my team, and another one, like Super Smoove to be on another team, and they can advise us (me and whoever is on the other team not as a spectator) and we can learn during the game and not just listen to them blab after the game. It would spread the blab out more and I might learn more from it. To be super clear, the adviser/trainer/spectator on each team would not place any terrs but would simply see the board as the player on their team sees it. If you wanted to be extra nice (and we all know you want to), you could let the trainer submit orders simply to show what they suggest to the real player.

Am I alone in thinking that clans would use this quite a bit?

Please general public chime in with your thoughts.

Ranked games would be pointless. Anyone good enough to be operating as an advisor is smart enough to know that points/levels are utterly meaningless (and would likely be a sufficiently high level that the points would be really meaningless).

All that having it in ranked games would do would be to allow for massive manipulation by alts.

exactly Richard, which is why it should be for practice games only.

The idea for practice games is brilliant. The only alternative I can think of is using a custom scenario on a map like the single-player Europe and having the advisors start in the reinforcement slots. Still not quite as good as what you are looking for though and has its obvious limitations.

You can do it already, you just create a team game and make all but one player for each team surrender before picks. It can even be ranked
We did a team 1v1 game in masters: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=9763055

Nice work around I like it! I would still like the ability for a spectator to suggest orders by actually inputting a set of orders that don't count.

@Seph, I've done that before, but it falls over if you have more player slots than possible starting positions. It's fine in most scenarios though. Like many things it would be cool if it could be integrated into the game itself though.
