This is getting silly, map making, video making, map of the week, userscript and 2 damn single player posts!!

Why are we nowadays being told what to read? I'm not interested in any of those and i'm sure i'm not alone, so please, if there's no interest in the subject (3 of them have no posts for the last day) let them go through lack of interest

I do not believe that the "Single boss three behavior" and "famous community levels should be pinned. The other ones I am fine with.

there's also a "map development" forum, possibly the best place for a Mapmaking Tutorial Video post?
Please don't clutter up the general forum, as it stands now, we can only see the last 2 posts

The mapmaking tutorial is in the map development forum. Its just also pinned.

@Richard: if you look at forum posts from the dashboard (on the side), you'll notice that the top 6 posts aren't actually the ones with the most recent updates but rather older ones that were stickied by moderators. Some of them only appeal to a small subset of forum users. All the current mods come from the same subcommunity of WL so they should be cognizant that the posts they value the most aren't always going to be the ones the community values the most.

Then they should stop being so lazy and just go to the forums page. You're never going to be able to have threads shown there that interest everybody.

Even if they only apply to a small subset of users there is more useful info on those threads than is in most of the dross on the forums. 90% of threads don't merit focus anywhere

If you're looking for "info" then the help forum should be first port of call.
Forums generally are for discussing things

Help is for help, not relevant information to warlight. That is what the general forum is for.

They are all help topics, not designed for discussion but to inform

The two single player topics are indeed general, but if no-one is posing on them, why are they top of the list?

Map of the week? *shrugs* I dunno, i think its always been stickied and while it was the only one really wasn't a problem, but with only 2 current posts now showing it's devaluing posts like Knytes fine "clan activity list" which a lot of people will now miss simply so that we can know about the Single player boss 3 spawn behaviour amongst other much less interesting (to most) posts

It isnt an issue of laziness, it is an issue of purpose. By clogging up the recent forum posts on the dashboard with pins, it defeats the purpose of even having the recent forum posts.

Just install Muli's userscript and then you can click ignore on those topics. Problem solved.

The help Forum is intended for people to post seeking help. That is why they are available to new users.

The posts you reference belong in the general forum or map making forum and are very relevant to warlight. They either discuss new site functions, how the site works or other relevant how tos.

As for wasting the recent forums post area, we'll that just doesn't exist. The area is titled 'forum posts' so the information contained therein is perfectly applicable. If you want to see the general forums simple go to the general forums page. It's quite simple.

I do find it interesting that you assume the threads that interest you are those that would interest the majority and the inverse. Perhaps the opposite is true... those that interest you don't interest the majority, thus your complaint!

well the answer to that is simple. Let the "forum posts" area contain the most recent posts, which are likely to reflect which people find most interesting

Nah, there's some posts that are interesting/sought-out by people but don't get frequent replies. Muli's userscript thread is one example.

@Richard: indibob is clearly complaining about the mods' preferences, not other users. Plus it's not like he can move this thread (that's up to the mods).

Interesting. There are no "stickied" topics in my view of the forums. Not a single one.
