So, I mainly play on my iPad and I only play single player. The recent update kind of ruins the game for me. Am I missing something? All my saved games are gone.

I can't speak to the new iPad app but I can say that all saved single player templates are still present on the web interface. They can be found at the bottom of the single player tab below the 'pathway' through the new levels. There's a link for Custom Game and that leads to all previously saved templates.

I would recommend checking out the new single player levels. Some interesting and challenging new stuff incorporated into them.

I'm talking about in-progress games that I have saved to continue later. I don't even see an option for saved games.

You can access if through safari on Apple products. While you just go through the Android equivalent for an Android product.
