Many Warlight players appreciated the World Nations maps for its handy use for diplomacy games, and with each update, new territories were added.
I'm proud to say that I'm making a 2016 version with new added territories for more in-depth diplomacies.
But the most radical thing I have to say is that I'm using a brand new map and not the original SVG for the World Nations maps

UPDATE:

For bonus values, I'm using from the old World Nations maps, but for some territories, I'm usually going to combine populations of cities with GDP for a bonus number.

I'm not really sure how many territories I'm going to have but I'm trying to have more than 488 from the World Nations 2014 map.

And this may now sound a little embarrassing, but I'm using the old Hearts of Iron 2 map as a template... the more I look into it, the more I'm beginning to regret it.

HOI's maps before the 4th iteration are incredibly distorted.

All of paradox's maps are Mercator's projection, causes a lot of distortion specially in Russia and Canada, two nations that are more often than not overpowered.

If you've seen how the colonial borders in Africa looked in HOI3, then you'd puke.

Looks good so far.

However the coastlines look a bit...well, not realisitic. Places like Alaska, The British Isles, Greenland or Italy really are out of proportions...
Apart from the looks I would like to see more sea connections In the northern Atlantic, along the African Coast and Indian and Pacific Oceans. That would greatly help historic diplos that take place in times between 1400 - 1800.

Edit: Personally I think Greenland should rather connect to Labrador than to Quebec.

As the others said, the proportions are all over the place and the coastlines and borders look kind of messy- probably because you used a pencil tool instead of the pen tool. I would also say it is too different to world nations 2014 (or whatever the newest iteration is) to be called world nations. Possibly call it 'world diplomacy' or 'world nations detailed' all something similar. I would consider restarting but it is your choice!

EDIT: also, as a world nations map, almost all nations should be included. Currently, you are missing countries like Luxembourg and Kosovo (not in UN but effectively independent).

The map is supposed to be newer version of this one, by the way:
https://www.warlight.net/Map/14770-World-Nations-2014

Drarf countries are not included in there either.

Thank you for the criticism, I definitely needed that in order to move this map to the right direction. No doubt I'm going to rename this map into a different name as the map will not match the original World Nations map. I'm really starting to like the name World Diplomacy map much better.

Also, as I hate to say it, I'm going to have to remake the whole SVG with a different map as I used a very poor template.

And I'm still relatively new to the map making feature of Inkscape, so which is the pen tool on it and can you explain what it is precisely?

2 of my favorite maps are Geopolitical Earth 2016 and second World war, before Geopolitical I used World Nations 2014 but like said before it was to0 small, geo its much bigger with 1109 its probably one of the best maps but it takes a lot of time to make a custom scenario. If you could make a template with the same or a little bit more territories and easier way of distributing territories like second world war than your map would be the best, Also if you need help with names in your maps feel free to message me I'll gladly help,I know a lot of history/Geography.

It's going to be colossal, I liked World Nations 2012 for its smallness, 300-500 lands should be in the range.

The pen tool is the tool below the pencil tool. It has the tool tip 'draw bezier curves and straight lines'. That is essentially the difference. You draw straight lines or very neat curves which generally look better than freeform pencil drawings.
