Communism can indeed work, and it can work without authoritarianism and without the killing of people to achieve its goals.


An example of the succes of Communism is the former Soviet Union, and present day North Korea, bot are example of how communism provides for its people sufficiently.


And also it's an example of how communism is peaceful, there were never any massacres under communism, gulag deaths never happened, and the Katyn Forest massacre of 20,000 Polish officers wasn't perpetrated by the Soviets but was by the Nazis.

Maybe, but only in a system with no corruption. Giving the government the amount of power is dangerous, I don't care if you've had 100 years of perfect leaders not taking advantage of communism, only takes one bad apple to screw it up.

What's the difference?

A communist system is where you have a community of peoples where there is no ruling class/dictator, and no form of currency.

MArxism is where you have a dictatorship that comes as the result of a revolution, or annexation.

Communism can be established through any means.

MArxism is ONLY established via revolution or annexation. And yes, marxism is not a form of communism, they are two diferent things.

Though it's possible for communism to be a result of marxism.

To be more exact, marxism is the theory that a capitalist country will eventually revolutionize into a dictatorship, and possibly something else.

I must also point out that there have not been any communist countries that are actually communist. A communist country is not a dictatorship, and has no classes. Similar to anarchy.

The present-day so-called "Communist relic" regimes are actually quite a bit more Capitalist in nature than the old Capitalist nations of the West.
