My father remembers the moon landing. He said,
"Everyone was watching it for hours. Even the teachers put all of us in the auditorium and played it for us that day. To everyone, it was the most amazing thing."

So what happened to NASA?
after hearing about the International Space Station possibly being bought by a commercial owner, I asked myself, "how did the organization that put people on the moon become so desperate for money they've selling the largest space station built, a technological wonder, to some rich company?"

I'm frustrated how the idea of entering space has lost interest. Space travel and exploration opens up so many possibilities. But no. Apparently the US would rather have the first person to live on the Moon be a representative of their company than a member of the NATIONAL Aeronautics and Space Administration.

We should commercialize space travel, the governments will probably use it to toss rocks at each other.

There should be a global space program funded by world gouverments with advanced technology and progress at their main core and not profit.

We should commercialize space travel,

^ Horrible idea. Community and co-operation destroy competition, the sole motivator for human development

Governments doing this would be awful, it'll limit space travel to only government approved folk, give governments incentive to create weapons to defend colonies, that will end up being used against other governments in wars. It'll become a race for colonies, that will end up becoming something to justify war over and a goal for governments fighting wars, which will prolong them.

Also funny Belguim, so boat travel, car travel, air travel, are all limited to rich folk?

Smedley but wouldn't corporations do the same?

Corporations do not have the ability nor the incentive to raise militaries against rivals. They are money sinks that take away from the possible efficiency that could have been invested in better methods meeting the needs of customers, and generally beyond the grasp of most corporations as they cannot print off money to pay for them, or extort money to pay for them.

You realize this is a ludicrous attempt to prove your point, right? Firstly, it was developed by one person competing with other Risk sites, and secondly, jackshit gets done here.

2 it's very ironic
3 cooperation and competition obviously can co-be in things like in teams of any kind...
