Hi everyone. I'm leaving the league as a player at the end of this season. It's been fun participating, but I am starting to realize that I can't put in the effort required to both play in the league and run it simultaneously. I want the league to continue running smoothly and efficiently, so will use the time I have to focus on this.

Over the next season or two, I am hoping to find a replacement league coordinator who is willing to keep the league running into the future.

Those players who have been showing an active interest in the running of the league in the past are welcome to message me with an expression of interest if this is something they would like to do.

Of course, any player who is keen should feel free to post updates, predictions, comments, etc. about the group tournaments on the forum, as this makes the league more interesting for all involved.

The organization of this tournament has been incredible under your regime huddyj. I hope you can continue to play in the tournament as it is a goal of mine to win Group A and it wouldn't be the same without you.

Very overdue for an update! Sorry, but I just haven't had the time for a while to do the 'extra bits' that make the league more fun, but here goes!

Group A is always a bloodbath, and apart from the soft boot wins Bonsai has been handing out, every game is tough. Buns looks strong, with a boot win saving him from a second loss after some horrible picks against Bonsai. Arkanton is going for back-to-back titles, and I've rallied strongly after losing both my opening games. This is still pretty much anyone's group to win, but until our slow-pokes get moving it's a bit hard to predict a winner.

Group B is wide open, with probably 5 players still in contention for the win. It's a tough group, with 7 players who have previously been in Group A. Leo is the best of the rest, and looks likely to back up his super-promotion from last season to reach the top group for the first time. indibob had a strong season, but probably won't grab a promotion spot. BlacKnight looks a bit out of his depth, and is almost certain to drop down to Group C next season, with Pantelas and Gibs also facing relegation.

As soon as I looked at this group, gogo2711 was my pick to win, and so far he is proving me right. Winged Hussars is heading down next season.

The top 3 in Group G is a tight tussle at the moment. Private Pabse still needs to play two of the current bottom 3 players, so should qualify. There is a very good chance that 4 players will finish 6-2, but I won't look at tie-breakers just yet, as there's still a lot to happen here.

Pardon77 is looking most likely to win our biggest ever expansion group, Group H. He still has key match-ups against Ragnar Lothbrok and Uki to play, however, meaning Green Turtle still has a big chance, having beaten both of those players. japan77 is the only player in this group who played last season (Cat Juggernaut played for a couple of seasons a while back), but after relegating into this group, he's had a promising start with 2 wins, and is the only undefeated player. There will be a lot of promotions from this group, with plenty of gaps to be filled in the higher groups, so there is plenty to play for here, that's for sure! The Supreme Mugwump will be removed from the league due to inactivity.

Thanks huddjh for the awesome overview and Interpretation. Is there really no Chance for you to continue both - running the league and playing? You really make a great job regarding both and I would be very sad if you stopped that. As I already wrote I do not have time to run the league. But if it changes your mind and you continue both - playing and running the league - I would offer you some Support (e.g. summing up new and old Players as I already did for this season or something similar). What do you think?

Hey Suschel, thanks for the encouragement. I'm actually considering that instead of not playing next season, I might join as a new player in the expansion group and see how long it takes to get back to the top. I've been in Group A every season so far, so haven't had the satisfaction of the climb through the ranks, and it should present a nice challenge.

Edit: It'll also give me a valuable perspective on what new players face when they join so low down the ranks. Hopefully I can find a better system to enable good players to rise at a faster rate than in the past. Pushover is trying a system in the other P/R league that incorporates tiers of parallel groups, which could be a valid option for our league going forward.

Ok, for those players interested (which should be everybody) here is the P/R Guide for season 7. Due to a large number of dropouts and non-participations, there are heaps of promotions, lots of double-promotions, and even some triple-promotions. However, there are very few relegations.

My basic pattern for this is:
1. Players with an undefeated record should always get a double-promotion where possible.
2. Plyers with no wins should always get a relegation.
3. Players with more wins than losses should normally get a promotion.
4. Players with more losses than wins should not normally get a promotion.
5. Players with less than 2 wins should normally get a relegation.
However, with a lot of gaps to fill, there are a number of exceptions to this pattern.

I always try to be as fair as possible in this, but if you see something you think should be changed, please let me know. And it is confirmed, I will be leaving Group A and re-joining in the expansion group next season.
