The final game was a boot win for j willy over BADA, saving me the headache of another potential 3-way tie if BADA had won. Unfortunately, BADA has booted in more than 50% of his games, and technically should be kicked from the league. However, since all of his non-boots were wins, he's finished in a promotion spot, and I've decided to leave him in.

This leaves just Group A and Group H still to finish. Neither one looks like finishing anytime soon though. Two players in A are still to finish a single game, and there's a couple of players in Group H also taking it nice and slow.

My idea to fix super slow tournaments: moving up the priority of average turn speed as tie breaker from #5 to #3, aka right below the head-to-head win rule.

Only 3 matches remaining in Group H (all involving japan77). 1st-6th and 13th-20th are decided, with 7th-12th the only positions left in contention. (for those players whose position is still in doubt, I've given their highest possible finishing position) Remember the top 15 players will each receive at least a single promotion, and with Lukku leaving, this means finishing 16th gets you a promotion. The only question left to ask is -- Who will finish 7th and receive the final double-promotion to Group F? Joe Howe, Mirage, Hasdrubal, and japan77 are all still in the running.

Green Turtle: With the possible exception of simple 3 way ties, the way the head to head tie breaker rule is applied resolves every situation, or damn near close to it. The proposed change would have a negligible effect.

A little bit incentive sometimes can make a big difference. Three-way ties are interesting and people pay a lot attention to them. If a player fought his way into a three-way tie in a famous tournament, but only lost on speed, it's a great advertisement. I am not sure. I just speculate that the psychological effect can be large.

Sorry Bayern, I wasn't meaning to be harsh. Yes, at this stage I have 16th place in Group H receiving a promotion.

That said, I would prefer that all players read my updates thoroughly before asking unnecessary questions that have already been addressed in the update. I don't have the time to answer individual questions from every league participant, which is why I try to put as much information into the updates as possible when I post them.

The fact Group H is going to finish well before group A is sad xD

In the 10 days since my last update for Group A, PhucilliJerry and Super Smoove have both moved on to their 4th vacation in a row! However, we have thankfully seen 5 games finish since then. In his brief play time between vacations, PhucilliJerry lost 3 matches (to Arkanton, Panagiotis, and huddyj) and won 1 (a boot win against Bonsai). With his boot win over Panagiots, Buns is still pushing relentlessly for top spot. Seems like the luck is going his way so far this season...

I've updated the Group H standings by editing my previous Group H update, so please look there to see what's been happening.

Group A hasn't had any more games finish lately, and is almost certain to be the last group to finish.

Regardless of the outcome of group A, I believe that something like seasonal ladder should be implemented - so, the game creator should define time span for the tournament (this is small earth map, therefore 10 turns is the maximum when the game should be decided, save some particularly difficult positions) say 2 months. If the tournament is not finished in that time, all games not yet finished should be considered as defeat (both players!) regardless of how good or bad situation each player has.

That way the tournaments can be much faster, and will avoid endless vacations like we currently have. 2-3 vacations still leave enough time to end 7-8 games at least.

The tournaments that didn't end, yet, will be finished in normal fashion, but, any result after the official end will not be honored.

Hasdrubal, that will just encourage stalling under certain conditions, if you are up a game in the tourney, but losing the game against whoever is in second, and third is 2+ games behind you, then stalling that game gives you the win for the tourney, which is stupid imo.
