i just got off of a 4 player ffa world map, i had 40 income and my only opponent left standing had 16. there was only a 2 minute boot. while my orders where loading up, right on the two minute mark BRILLIANT booted me.

there have been a few occasions where i have dealt with players like this, but out of my 200+ games i dont think there have been more than 5, and none of them as low as this.

I wouldn't complain when I join 2 minute boot games, and then get booted because I didn't submit fast enough. I honestly expect to get booted when I join any games less than 5 minute boot times.

I know what 2 minute boots are about, but firstly, i was already done and waiting for them to submit, second, he was not submitted yet either, thirdly you dont generally get booted that far in, even though i know that you can, and he was complaining because it was an unfair game that because someone else surrendered cost him the win. at the end of it I told him that was unfair and all he responded with was, "QQ."

I will also admit, that i didn't originally start this thread just to call him out, but more to get a discussion on whether this is fair or not, my temper got the best of me, and i do apologize for that.

The point is, it doesn't matter if it's fair or not, because this shit keep happening, even if its unfair. There is nothing you can do other than to join longer boot time games and make sure you have a good internet connection. You can't change the way another person plays this game, you can only choose you would like to play it.

The internet is a place full of assholes and jerks than don't play nice online. People need to just deal with it, instead of just talking and complaining about it on the forums. The forums here are already riddled with "booting" and "refusal to vote end" threads, and we don't need more of it.

You joined a 2 min speed game. Meaning you have 2 mins to submit your orders. Why should you gain an "unfair" advantage over any player with extra time just because you have more troops to deploy?

If you want to take your sweet time to make sure your orders are the best they can be play multi day games. If you enjoy watching turns and taking some time to think of your orders play 5/10 min boot games.

Are players in chess allowed extra time on their clock? Are basketball players allowed extra time to cross half-court? Are football players allowed extra time to snap the ball? rules are rules, i suggest you read settings before joining a game and follow the rules.

While I agree with Brilliant that you shouldn't join a 2 minute game if you need 4 minutes, those sports you used as examples do have time outs and are used when the player(s) are disorganized.

I suppose an equivalent of a time out would be asking in chat for more time. A non sports example of how time is used to keep participants equal would be taking the SAT/ACT. :D

Again i do apologize for all of this, kind of in a bad mood yesterday. What gets me isnt so much the boot time as much as the sportsmanship behind it, my orders where loading as i got booted and at least according to my screen brilliant still did not have his own orders in. I just dont see why somebody would want to win that way.

just find a good group to play with that fits your style of play. Yours seems to be quick games but the enough sportsmanship to finish the game out normally. Start by joining games and finding people that play like you, then join up with them. Then you can start hosting games with certain criteria or you can invite your group to it. You're gonna get some bad ones in there but just blacklist and move on.

Soon enough you'll only be playing with 20-40 players that you know and then you'll have an occasional game with others.
